Also worth pointing out (not for sour grapes but to give M’s fans perspective) is the first “yor-daddy” rbi “double” was actually a 339’ fly out with an expected batting average of .139.

Kelenic easily runs that down in any other park.

It makes no difference if Yordan or Bregman “knew what pitch was coming” or not. You still have to beat them.

I’m not saying Yordan knew what was coming on the bomb he hit yesterday, obviously.
But, I am curious what this statement of yours means. I’m reading it as: it didn’t matter that the Astros cheated, because you still have to win. Is that what you are saying? I am a little confused by it.

Personally, I think the only “cheating” Yordan did was looking at their previous matchup on the iPad.

I think my point was that it makes a lot more sense to just credit the opponent when they succeed, instead of looking for excuses.

All of Toronto seems to be in denial of their team’s shortcomings.

Similarly, a lot of Mariners fans are already calling for Scott Servais’ job, which is absolutely ridiculous.

They pitched Ray out of the pen because they had already decided he was not going to get a start vs Houston (based on his season numbers against them).

It kinda makes sense. These are the arms you have available.

SOMEbody has to be able to get Yordan out if they want to beat Houston.

All teams check their iPads. Checking and execution are different.

1-3 with 2 walks before last night. That's Yordan vs Ray. Yordan sure AF was expecting a low inside fastball. And he got heeeeem

Yes, exactly. Ray had previously got Yordan out with a two seamer. Yordan saw that on the iPad, and was looking for it. Robbie’s second two seamer leaked middle middle.

Yordan won the battle. I don’t get why people feel the need to second guess the manager.

Tip your cap and move on. Surprisingly, even 23 year old Jarred Kelenic could see that.

Let’s see what happens today. I’m expecting Framber to be a lot of trouble. My pick to click is Kelenic pinch hit double after Framber leaves.

Maybe the 378’ wall in Left Center at T-Mobile will help on Saturday?

Even if the Mariners season ends tomorrow this has been a really fun ride and I think this will be a rivalry for a few years now at least, Mariners are just going to get better from here. Alvarez has carried the Astros in this series. Altuve is 0-7 with a walk, Bregman is 2-7 with 2 RBI's, if not for Alvarez the Mariners might actually have a 2-0 lead.

Agreed. The future is bright for M’s fans. I love how they played yesterday! I can’t see anything they could have done differently, really. Sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way.

After the strike three call to Cal with bases loaded, and JP lining into a dp in the 9th, it seemed clear the baseball gods were not going to let the M’s win.

Not trying to be a smart azz but was that Ty France who swung at a 58' curveball to end the game? He was totally fooled whoever that was.

    I think so?

Here’s pitching ninja’s overlay of the slider and curveball. Apparently the spin rate of the deuce was in the 3800’s.
