My thoughts on extreme ...

First, I love this game. You'll never catch me saying I won't be back next year. God willing (and the creek don't rise, as the late great Johnny Cash used to say) I will.
But the extreme program has been endlessly frustrating. Over the top. I realize it's supposed to be that way. I get at times you're playing in All-Star and HOF modes in it. As someone who would never be competing in the summer or fall contests, I get that.
But a couple of things have really been a little too much. I have yet to get Kerry Wood. I'm 3 points away. All my advances in this program have been XP. But I've tried a few of the moments. The Gerritt Cole I have gotten two homeruns a couple of times but no more. One time I started with a base hit and then got two home runs. I expected it to continue (because the game didn't say specfically the HRs had to be the first three batters, just that they started the game with them) and then the moment stopped. Also, I've come close with Carlos Delgado (my best finish was one base away).
But the biggest frustration was today with Albert Pujols. I got through the first part (which I've been able to do several times). In the second AB on the second part I hit a ball that looked very good. I mean REALLY good. The commentary said all the right words and it looked like a home run as it started to land. Nope. It was a ball caught at the wall.
That's one of the frustrating things about this program. Maybe it's my bad luck, but to hit a ball that looks and pretty much feels like a home run and then have it not be at the last second is terribly frustrating and unfair.
I don't expect to get any sympathy here and honestly, I don't want any. What I would like is for the program to play a little more fairly. If it's not going to be a home run, don't lead me on so much.
One constructive (I think) suggestion for SDS for next year: Bring the extreme program on a little earlier than this year. Is it necessary to wait until the sun begins to set on the game to bring it in?
As I said I love this game. I don't play a lot of online and maybe I should do that a little more. Maybe that would make the extreme program a little more palatable. But it just seems like the idea is to not win it rather than to make it challenging. Yeah, yeah, I know ... stop your whining....

Add: My batting order for Gerrit Cole is Steve Finley (who hits home runs a lot ... maybe it happens with the leadoff on that moment), then Babe Ruth and currently Ortiz. When I get Junior, I'll sub him for someone.

Have you done the Conquest? That right there will get you Kerry and then just use him endlessly until you get him p5.
I am not great at this game. I still play mostly on rookie and veteran against CPU and hardly ever online and I just got Cano last night. There are 5 moments that are doable. I never completed the one you're talking about. The multi game Griffey moment can be dashboarded so you don't lose progress. The Kerry Wood 20ks is totally manageable and there are a few others that uou can do. And honestly, unless you want to collect every card, you can finish once you hit Chapman. Cano and Donaldson are amazing from what I hear. But not worth the headache if you don't care.

You can do this. I am not good at the game. I normally just play the computer on rookie to chill. I finished the extreme program about a week ago. I did all of the missions but two and made it through the conquest. The rest of the points I just racked up playing the game. Getting to Wood and getting him to P5 was huge. You got this though.

I've started the conquest but missed the conquering the strongholds on each turn. I guess I'll start that over again.

Using the dashboard method got me the Griffey and Pujols moments (with Ohtani halfway done).
I’m not even going to bother trying any others.
Accept your (and my) lot in life and be happy there’s a realistic path to get these cards at all, even if it’s going to take till January.

I do feel bad for guys that have trouble with stuff like this, but at the same time I think it is good to have some content like this that is hard to obtain….also not behind a paywall.

Take your time with it and Steal on every turn for a while to help you build your fan count and weaken theres. The turn based missions are doable.
-
Just stack your lineup with your best lefty bats. If you don’t hit a couple home runs in the first inning then restart. All these cards are worth the grind
-
I just hit 85 points. Cherry pick the moments. I know I skipped the 3 HR one. Then knock out conquest. There are some solid tutorials on YouTube to help you with strategy. If you have a good DD team it is much easier. Then when you get Wood, put him as starter number 5 and play a bunch of conquest games with him on Rookie. Chapman was my goal. Now I'll just pxp to Cano and Donaldson but really there are better options out there for cheaper and easier so don't sweat if you don't get them.

I got Wood and Chapman. The rest can kiss my [censored]. Moments in this game suck ON ROOKIE, where the pitchers throw strikes about 20% of the time. If I don't get the cards, I don't get the cards.
-
I got Kerry Wood. It was the Edwin Diaz moment that did it. It turned out to be a lot easier than I figured it would be. I don’t remember if I had tried that before or not. I think I tried it once. But anyway, I did it.
-
I only grinded the pxp and the wood missions. Need another 4k pxp and then I have chapman. Rest is unreachable for me, is what it is...

On Multi Game Moments. Close the App before a game ends. Go back into it and it's like you never started...

I guess I always just missed when I tried that. I'll do it sooner. Just glad to know that works. Thank you.
