He was on a visit since Miami was in San Diego. He’s always been a huge fan of the game and seems like a lot of players do this when they plan on the road in SD. I that’d be amazing if he was the cover athlete for ‘23

He was able to distribute the attribute points to the areas he wanted for his Real 99 card.
You might want to shout out to him on Twitter. He plays the game regularly, and since his back injury, I'm sure he's been playing more.

No I understand all of that, I sat through those live steams I am just saying don't be surprised if he is on the cover next year

I'd say that was a possibility before the injury but I can't see them using someone who only played 60 games and has not played since June, visit or no visit.

I fail to understand why Jazz would get a high diamond card? He's really done nothing in the MLB besides show a flash or two.....I get he's a fan favorite, but that alone shouldn't automatically get you a 95+ diamond (unless it's a topps now like you said)

I think jazz has a lot of potential but he’s only had one half of a solid season. His OPS+ was just 95 last year. I think we should wait until he actually lives up to his potential before he gets the cover.
If SDS wants to market an exciting young star, there are a ton of guys 25 and under — J-Rod, Acuna, Vlad, Harris II, Riley, Soto, Devers, Bichette, Alvarez, Adley, Manoah just to name a few — who have done more to deliver on their promise or at least have shown they have super high ceilings. Jazz could be a superstar for the next 15 years or he could be mediocre and forgotten in a couple years. SDS usually picks lasting stars as the cover athlete, and I don’t think jazz really has earned it yet.

I like your list. There are some great potentials there. They usually pick someone who has had a standout year too. I think your list has some good candidates.
I don't know if they've ever repeated a cover athlete, but if they have, I think Judge would be the highest candidate for next year. Even if they haven't, there is always a first time.
