To see Ozzie Smith and Tony Gwynn hitting titanic moonshots?
I saw a large percentage of both of these HOFers careers, and I have to laugh.
Ozzie could barely hit it out of the infield. He would hit worm burners in the infield and try to beat them out.
Gwynn made a career out of slapping the ball to LF. Ted Williams used to yell at him to pull more.No complaints here... I just hit a Matt Stairs-esque bomb with Gwynn in a h2h game.

Boog calls him a power hitting shortstop when he steps to plate.
I said it for years that this game was heading towards NBA Jams territory.

I really don’t like what they did with the power attributes on some of these guys. My coaches used to always tell us to approach ABs like Gwynn, Carew, Boggs, Brett (though he was a power hitter by comparison), etc. because they would hit line drives, go the opposite direction, and always make contact. Such a different approach than the Adam Dunns and Joey Gallos of the all-or-nothing launch angle era. There are plenty of those big power guys in this game, and they have their place! But I always look forward to using dudes like Gwynn and Smith at the top of the order because they can get on base and set the table for Frank or Foxx or whoever comes after them.
It’s kinda like last year when all of a sudden every pitcher in history apparently had a devastating sinker. If a guy is a Hall of Famer or a legit legend, just let him do what he became famous for doing. I don’t want to see Ted Williams with 99/99 speed/stealing any more than I want to hit moonshots with Ozzie smith.

Agreed.
But the game is almost exclusively about power today, and that's why baseball has become dreadfully boring to watch.

Pop up, K, grounder into the shift, K.I had to retire my 5-Time team MVP, Kenny Lofton, early this year because the ball goes absolutely nowhere when he squares one up.
It's why nobody uses great players like Carew, Juan Pierre, realistic Boggs cards, Richie Ashburn, etc.If you don't use cards with a minimum of 90+ power, you're wasting a lineup spot.
Joey Gallo is the biggest joke in baseball.
At least Dunn drew walks as well as hitting balls to Jupiter. -

At least Dunn drew walks as well as hitting balls to Jupiter.Carew is always one of my 5 favorite cards every year, and I still use Pierre, Aparicio, ashburn, etc. pretty frequently. BUT! I play about 99% of my games offline, so I don’t feel like I have to keep up with the “meta” (hate that word) to stay competitive.
I really enjoy collecting cards and putting together all-time lineups with my favorite players from all eras. I just wish SDS wasn’t afraid to release true-to-life attributes in order to appease power-hungry streamers. I honestly don’t want Luis aparacio to have a slugging percentage over 1.000. That’s not why he’s in my lineup.

I think if they made the 99/99 speed/steal be more accurate and able to steal it might help facilitate the small ball. No reason Rickey should be thrown out 12 out of 20 times for me.
I know about holding R2 now but shouldn't have to game the system for the all time steals leader to snag a bag.
If SB attributes were more true these guys would be really useful -

They can't make contact hitters work as they should without constant complains from the dweebs about unlimited bloop singles. It's more disrespectful to have these guys in the game and be useless cards than it is to give them some juice

^^^ This. Like you said about 19. Contact hitters were useful but then power hitters lined out at the fence.
