Taking balls is cheesing? I've read everything now. I'm so sorry, I'll start swinging at all the balls
It’s cheesing when you know the pitching is trash in this game and either it’s a walk or a HR thanks to the game forcing your pitches over the middle. More and more players are noticing this and are exploiting it.
So because I know the game is trash, I have to swing at balls? That is your logic?
No, but you could ask SDS to make a better game. Unless you like the game making things easier for you.
I've voiced concerns about the game already multiple times, what does that have to do with my comment in this thread? All I said on this thread was that not swinging at balls does not = cheese and you jumped down my throat.
Maybe your right, it’s more along the lines of exploiting the garbage gameplay. Either way, it’s unfortunate players can do that because the game is poorly designed.
You are somehow still blaming the players. You call it cheesing and exploiting, but I honestly don't understand what you want players to do? Swing at every borderline pitch so that you can get them out more easily.
Call out SDS and complain about the bad pitching if need be but calling people who take pitches cheesers and exploiters is just misguided.
If I know there’s a flaw or something wrong with a certain aspect of a video game and I use that to benefit myself, uh yeah, it’s called exploiting. SDS has been called out since day 1, they made a slight adjustment that didn’t do anything but at least they can say they did something when in reality they want this trash to happen to help players hit or get on base with a walk. It’s not hard to see what’s going on and it’s easy to EXPLOIT.

Not swinging at balls isn't taking advantage of anything.
It's simply not swinging at bad pitches. Like every good hitter should do.Yes pitching is messed up, yes not enough corner pitches get called.
That has nothing to do with the player, it's SDS and the game, the player is not at fault at all. The player is not taking advantage, not cheesing, not exploiting. -

There has to be some kind of cheese going on that everyone I play online just doesn’t swing at all. You can’t even pitch inside or even attempt to paint the corners because nobody swings, is it because of the lack of the corners being called strikes or what is it? These guys aren’t even check swinging at balls that are a centimeter from the strike zone.
Simple fix. Throw strikes.

It’s because pitchers hang pitches even on perfect release. So why try to hit a well located pitch when u know your gonna get a hanger sooner than later

It does suck from a pitcher’s point of view, but why be aggressive early in the count when you know it is difficult to locate pitches?
We all do the same thing. Try to lay off the junk until you get a good pitch to hit. As has been already said, the best way to counter your opponent sitting on your pitches in the middle of the plate is to get ahead in the count. Derp.

I wouldn’t say it’s cheese just the way the game is being played right now. No point in swinging at anything close that he not comfortable with because most calls on the edge will be balls and the way the pitching is this year if u just sit and wait something is going to hang and you punish it. I assume a patch to fix the strike ball ratio on pitches on the black will come soon, and a patch that makes more strikes on check swings, which in essence will cause ppl to have better plate discipline and react to closer pitches.
