Ok so what’s up with the take every pitch cheese?

There has to be some kind of cheese going on that everyone I play online just doesn’t swing at all. You can’t even pitch inside or even attempt to paint the corners because nobody swings, is it because of the lack of the corners being called strikes or what is it? These guys aren’t even check swinging at balls that are a centimeter from the strike zone.

I wouldn't call taking pitches cheese.... but yes, I think people are more likely to take more pitches this year since A) pitches on the black are rarely called strikes, so why even bother swinging at them, and B) so many pitches hover right over the heart of the plate that you can afford to take the occasional strike on the black

Because the game will force pitches over the middle to make it easier to hit, so just sit back and relax and wait for the game to serve you easy pitches regardless of what your opponent does when pitching.
Pretty shady move by SDS if you ask me.

You have to earn the confidence to be able to paint corners. Trying to nibble without confidence will result in walks or bad pitches.. That is literally the most realistic thing about this game

The alternative to this is swinging at bad pitches simply because the game has poor mechanics. Blame SDS, not the player who takes pitches

I've voiced concerns about the game already multiple times, what does that have to do with my comment in this thread? All I said on this thread was that not swinging at balls does not = cheese and you jumped down my throat.

This is not real baseball homie, if I do everything right in a video game, the outcome should be rewarding and the game should not override my input to make it easier for my opponent.

Maybe your right, it’s more along the lines of exploiting the garbage gameplay. Either way, it’s unfortunate players can do that because the game is poorly designed.

No, it's not exploiting period. Just because the game is trash doesn't mean players should be forced to swing at balls.
That's on SDS, blame them, expecting players to swing at balls or be called exploiters or cheesers is downright ridiculous.

Taking pitches until you have 2 strikes is a strategy that people have used in this game for as long as I can remember.
