Market Crash Incoming???

Market Guru's...what say ye? With the influx of all of this new content Friday (30 new bosses + likely another 30 Henchman, even with a new BIG collection, does it not feel like this WAY OVER INFLATED Market is about to come crashing down? Curious as to everyone's thoughts.

Yes. The Fed will likely be raising interest rates until next spring.

I could see a flash sale of some kind but depending on the collection, I definitely think a crash is in order. Which is great cause I love paying 70 cents on the $ for Online rewards I only want because I need to collect everything (Elvis Andrus- I'm looking at you).

ordinarily the cards already out would drop a bit as ppl sell off to have funds for the new stuff, this time however the FB/L collection releases with it so prices might increase with the demand for the collection , or they ll go down a bit as they are liquidated and right back up as demand for the collection starts(most likely scenario)

A flash sale would be what you really be the only thing that drives prices down. If there is no flash sale expect prices to increase more as people scoop cards to complete the new collection day 1
-
My thinking was that people are going to have to collect more cards to acquire other cards (like the McCutcheon/Brett cards), so prices might go up on things as people try and finish their new goals. But that's just a guess on my part.

I'm thinking the collection is going to take a ton of cards. I've seen some youtubers predictions but I think it will be more like 90 percent of cards from each collection. Depending on how good the collection card is and how well people prepped we could see prices on a lot of cards go up. LS will continue to depreciate, base round cards will be stuck at QS, but you could see other cards skyrocket. This off course depends if we get henchmen or not. One would assume we get them but they have not been mentioned by sds. It also depends what other packs are in the reward path.

Since the first two collection rewards were hitters it seems likely this one will be a pitcher.
If it is a monster version of Halladay or deGrom I can see people scrambling to get the collection done. When they released Kershaw last year though I remember the reception being pretty lukewarm and the market immediately dipped so it all depends.

This is year two for me and I have always heard the market skyrockets when a collection drops, but I have yet to see it. What I feel like I have most often seen is a crash, followed by a steady rise the days following. My assumption is that there are a few factors contributing to that...
- There is almost always a significant amount of new content that drops with the collection.
- The collection seems unattainable for many.
- It was not a player that many felt was worth the cost.
But then as the dust settles and the content drop is not as fresh, people start to realize they are closer than they thought and see areas where they need to fill gaps and specific series start to rise (typically postseasons and 2nd half).
I don't pay attention to streamers at all, but I fully expect it to be a big requirement. I had virtually every card in the game for Brett and Cutch, but I was not able to lock either in the second it dropped. I had to either collect some XP to get henchmen or buy a few of the new cards that were hitting the market. I think with Brett I had every single postseason card available, but after the content drop I was needing something like three more because there were so many postseason available in that program. With Cutch there as something like an Always Intense pack that day that had a handful of Milestone cards and even though I had all Milestone before the drop, I was short because of how many were in that pack.
