Old School Showdown(not a complaint)

Just a friendly announcement. Being a reliever Wagner will eventually gas obviously, here is how many pitches it takes.
28 pitches= yellow
42 pitches= red
53 pitches= out of energy -

Doesn’t seem to matter anyway. I had him out of energy and he was still throwing 102 and dotting the edges of the zone.

He was meat. I needed like 7 runs and got them with 9 outs still left. After facing Nolan and Randy on HOF, Wags on vet was cake.

This Wagner Showdown has been the hardest one (outside Extreme) I have played to date. I keep coming in the final showdown down from 5-8 runs and end up losing by 3 or more each time. Had to take a break and moved on to mini seasons for a bit.

I blew through all the setup matches to Wagner and then he tied me up in knots. Fortunately I ram him out of energy and won with two outs remaining, but I didn’t enjoy facing him.

Just put the controller down and only hit when on 2 strikes.

Yeah man, I did the same thing 2-3 times. I think I’ve only had to replay 1 showdown 1 extra time this year, but this gave me fits leading up to Wagner. The moments are easy enough but for the life of me couldn’t string together enough to win against Wagner.
Took a break to mini seasons, came back and won all but the first. Trust the approach and sure you’ll have the same results.

I can't even beat the rookie early ones much less getting to Wagner with any decent number of runs

Wagner by himself isn't all that bad, but these 1 inning moments can kick rocks. Either make it 3 innings or all showdowns, 1 inning garbage even on rookie makes it unnecessarily harder than it needs to be

It took me 4-5 times to beat Wagner because like I said, it didn't seem to matter if he ran out of energy. I didn't notice any change in his pitching. I got to 15-15 in one try with the base loaded, something like 9 outs left and still lost. A freak bunt double play because the baserunners freeze on a slight bunt pop up. Then a rocket snagged up the middle for another double play. Then I just was pissed and couldn't make contact.
Anyways the regular moments are a crapshoot. I like that you don't have to play defense and pitch but yeah they should be longer than 1 inning, especially when the AI defense is making web gems all over.
