Metascore voted Chipper the #8 best third baseman and Lou Gehrig is the #4 first baseman. I do go by those ratings but what’s hall thoughts on this? I’m definitely giving them both a shot, I used Chipper in Showdown and he hit a Bo,b first at bat. His defense stats look a little iffy though

It’s all player preference. People still have 92 polanco and 93 Ketel in their lineup even though by score there are prob 10+ people ahead of them

Exactly. I love both of those cards. I hit parallel V with Ketel months ago and still keep and Mookie on my bench for utility players.

Oohh man Gehrig has the smoothest swing of all time but I get it though. I have players that I just can’t get it going with. I kinda feel that way about Frank Thomas. All I do is hit hard ground balls and line outs with him, occasionally a middle that goes 5 million feet. Everyone crushes with him.

Lou Gehrig is usually the 1b I hit best with (Foxx if I need a righty), but I have a hard time believing that this is the best Gehrig card we are getting this year. I haven’t played with the card this year, but on paper his hitting attributes are lower than his 99SS in 19 and 20, as well as his 99 Milestone from last year’s game.
    Any thoughts?

    Kick azz card.
worthy of the 360s avg and 49 hr campaigns probably a little low for them.
If it is his best card it is pretty dam good though.

Thanks, I want both Gehrig and Wagner. Chipper is good but I am a little board of his card. It’s the only 3B people use. Wagner has always been my top LH reliever, but I really enjoy Lou. Guess I am buying one.

Compared to last years Gehrig, this card is definitely lacking but it still is a pretty good card. Gehrig was one of my best hitters last year but he was125 contact both sides, power was 125/115 and vision was 120. Last year it was a completely juiced card. This year I'm not sure Im a huge of of the reverse splits on the power. Problem is he is not much far off Ortiz who was free. Frank I think is better if you want a righty and like Franks swing. Plus with all the third basemen, usually one ends up on first, I have Brett there now, Devers as a backup Riley playing third, this is before I even consider Chipper at 3rd. This also does not even count for the fact that surely we are getting a stacked Goldy soon and 1st is usually where Ruth plays so I'm not sure how long of if I would even use Lou this year. To me Chipper will be the most useful, switch hitter that has SS secondary for flexibility. Wagner looks disgusting so he will be the boss I buy and then maybe Ill try out Lou if Im bored.
