Dashboard - the act of shutting down your entire system when raging after opponent hits ANOTHER HR off you….opponent doesn’t get credit for the HR
It is claimed some study the dark arts of the dashboard so deeply they can do it immediately following the crack of the bat….

Hey I’m new to MLB The Show, I’ve played it here and there but MLBTS21 was my first time playing it on a consistent basis. This year however I’m grinding and putting the work in. I want to learn some of the MLBTS lingo tho because I see veteran players talking about things like P5,T4,T5
I just want to get caught up and also know what they’re talking about. Any info would help and anything you feel I should know please lmk! Who knows maybe we get a game
P5 is short for Parallel 5. No idea what T4/T5 are (typo?)...maybe context would help.
RS - Ranked Season
BR - Battle Royal
FS/SS/LS - Future Star/Sig Series/Live Series (As noted above)
FOTF - Face of the Franchise (the 90 overall cards from program 1).Uh....im sure theres a bunch of other short hands I cant think of atm.

P5 is parallel 5, FS is future stars, SS or sig is signature series, LS is live series. “F*ck SDS” usually means someone lost. Not sure what else I have I missed but that’s some of the lingo I use at least.
Ohhhh I got you so they’re like abbreviations for the series the card is from ?
Yes, pretty much a shorthand for card type.
So I saw P5 from another forum where a guy said if you use Nolan Pedro back to back your bad at the game ( his opinion I honestly don’t know why it matter ) and he said P5 Nolan. Then someone commented they use T5 (players name) I guess they mistyped though if you’re saying T5 is nothing
As other shave said "P1", "P5" is the parallel. The more you use the card, the better it gets. The highest a card can "parallel" is "P5"...so a P5 Nolan is better than a P1 Nolan. Everyone has opinions with this game and they are simply that...opinions. There are a million ways to play and the main thing is for people to find the way that is fun for them to play.

Was a little confused on what parallel meant because I didn’t see it in the series section of the market place. But I just learned that it actually boast your cards attributes based on the amount of XP you earn for that player.

Perfect timing man, I saw it just now and assumed it was that similar to how 2k and madden do it. Thank you for confirming it. And I agree I just play for fun and to build up my team but I can see how other people would want to play a certain way

Yes and no. It's not how much XP you earn for a player. XP and Parallel XP (PXP) are different. Press triangle on any card, and you will see a menu at the bottom. Go to the Parallel option, and you will see the scale and what you need to do to earn PXP for a player. All hitters earn it the same way and all pitchers earn it the same way.

My system just automatically dashboards as soon as my opponent swings

Welcome to The Show and our strange community. As a rule, when you see 5a post like the one about Pedro, Randy and Nolan....read the comments below and you'll know it's got no validity.
I was new last year and am still learning things but there are some really helpful people on here....like the ones who are posting in your thread. The lingo you just pick up on the forum. I had no idea what 99% of this stuff meant last year and now I am at least conversational hahaha.
Like one poster said, the key is to have fun. Feel free to ask loads of questions. I still do.
What programs are you working on? Do you know how to use the market?

This post brings up the most important abbreviation of all- NMS = No Money Spent. These people are like vegans or folks who do cross fit in that they will tell/show you because it is vital to their existence that everyone knows!!!

Perfect/Perfect. It doesn't mean perfect results, and it doesn't mean it is THE perfect hit. It means the ball is hit squarely and timed perfectly. It has nothing to do with where the ball lands.

Oh yeah I agree. I will say last year to catch up I did spend some $$$ to complete the LS collections but this year I’ve been grinding and I’d say I have a pretty solid team. All 99s and all are going for high amount of stubs on the market. Not saying that makes them good because ofc everyone knows it’s who’s controlling the sticks.

I agree but that’s how sports gaming is these days. Played against 99 Randy Johnson for the first time the other day. Even though my opponent kept spamming the corners and breaking stuff I was able score 2 runs in the 4th then a walk off 2 run hr in the bottom of the 12th on a perfect/perfect. Gotta say that was the best sounding perfect I ever heard.
