I will dashboard if I want.
I will stop you.
I knew it...THANOS
-
I honestly don’t care, I get a win...
I will hit plenty more home runs
That being said I think it’s classier and more respectful to not dashboard, but whatever, live and let live -
The real problem with dashboard quitting is that the person who did nothing wrong gets punished and loses their stats. Since there’s no way to determine if it was an actual quit or legit disconnect so we can’t ban the person who disconnects....
BUT....
What If when that person disconnects it gives the other player the option to continue against the computer if they want and keep any earned stats OR let us take the immediate win and move on. That way no ones is punished and we still get our stats towards our prestige players or daily missions.

dashboarding stinks but how do you differentiate it from someone who just loses their internet connection or something
1 hour ban - then 8 hour ban -

Whenever I see a post like this it comes off to me as a “punish this player for not allowing me to pad my stats”. Odds are you are beating your opponent pretty well if they rage and dashboard lol.
I personally don’t dashboard, But I think it’s silly to complain about it.
Dashboarding is a punk move, but it’s not like you won’t hit another homerun with that player. Take your win and move on.

It's a non issue imo. The times people have dashboard on me mode HR where the HR actually mattered statistically has been like 3 times all year.

I really don’t know how SDS has gone years without figuring out a solution to this one. For home runs, the second the bat makes contact with the ball the game “knows” it is a home run. It’s obvious based on the way runners and fielders react even when it’s a wall scraper. Just have the stat count at that instant in case there is a disconnect. It wouldn’t help in any other hit scenario, but home runs are probably the biggest issue for most people anyway.
There must be a problem with the way SDS originally set up stat tracking which everything is then built on. It’s probably a house of cards that would tumble if they try to alter it in any way . Makes sense since they completely broke fielding a fly ball at the wall when they tried to make minor changes to a fielding system that had worked for over a decade. I can’t think of any other reason why they couldn’t figure this out.
It’s probably similar to how Sony screwed up PSN names at the start of PS3, which is the reason it took so long to allow name changes and why there are so many unintended side effects for doing it.

SDS, please solve the issue with losing HR stats because of rage dash boarding.
It’s always been annoying and now it’s even more so with the new emphasis on online stats for completing programs.
Sorry bob to bring up this old thread but man… you just seem awfully worked up over this dilemma… hope things get better for you

This is baseball what about a 3 strikes you’re out program
-
All this talk about “what if it happens when your internet drops”. I have played thousands of games and never had the drop happen in the middle of a homerun.

I personally think if you dashboard quit you should be banned from all online play for 2 days. That'll stop rage quit dashboarding real quick. No penalty needed for properly done pause menu quits.
Even 24 hours would cut it way down

Digging up a two year old post from my profile in response to another thread, one which I stopped responding to days ago, is an interesting way to show that you’re not worked up.
A little advice, learn to let things go. You’ll feel much better.

The solution has always been extremely simple. Anyone who quits starts to receive less total XP and stubs from postgame rewards. Instead of getting the full amount you get 95%. Then 90%. Then 85%. Then maybe they can stop quitting.
BuT WhAt If I LoSe CoNnecTioN I shOuldnt GeT PenAli…..Dont worry Little Billy, after a certain amount of games it builds back up so everyone with horrible internet still ruins it for everyone else and doesn’t get penalized.

Naw, the solution is not to penalize the person that 'dashboards'. It is to register the homerun once the ball is put in play (as several others have already stated in this thread). Nobody gives a cr@p about punishing the dashboarders. It's about the person being subjected to dashboarding getting their just rewards.

That solution is perfect...if you want to be stuck in freeze offs for the rest of your life. All you're doing is giving people that are getting crushed even more incentive to stick around in a freeze off so they don't lose XP and stubs.

That is sometimes the case, but I am probably the worst online hitter in the show, and you can imagine my disappointment when I get a rare lead only to have the other guy quit and I lose any chance to get stuff needed to progress programs.
I fully understand quitting, but given how often the servers crash on me I think banning might be a bit much, but perhaps as a way to reward the player that didn't quit perhaps a doubling of all stats earned, experience points and pitcher energy refilled for the person who didn't quit, and a significant negative on experience points for the quitting player?

Or like halo where if you quit games early it stacks. I think it was halo but you quit 1st inning ok warning , then 15 mins offline, then 1 hr before you can pLay Any etc

Dashboarding has been a thing since 2007 or earlier. I don't think it's going anywhere, nor will people ever be penalized for it, unless the game developer decides to do so. It's a system exploit, not really a game exploit.
