Fix Griffey

I just dont love the shift. Was the shift around his era that we have to hit in it with him?

I have zero faith they will release another card. Did they do that last year?
Multiple times with other players. Griffey will absolutely get another card.

Yeah, I dont think a second half of a season card will be the "big" Junior lol. Would be very surprised. Definitely gets a Sig or Takashi.
-
Did they release 2 99 Jr.s last year? I took last year off.

The shift has actually been around since Ted Williams Days just not as heavily used like it is now. They say that if teams hadn't started to use the shift on Ted that he would be on top of the career batting average

Not last year, but the year before I believe. Last year was the 95 overall where they gave him the wrong stance.
-
Incredible, and 2 years ago there was a post season and 1997 MVP.
But hold on, they gave him the wrong stance?!?!? You literally have to try to be this incompetent. Wow.
-
I don't believe personally we will see the holy grail Griffey this year.

While I admit it is confusing to potentially release two 99 cards for a legend, I have little doubt that there is a better 99 card a few months down the line.
I honestly don’t think they even wait that long. I think this is a new approach where they’re just trolling us and I for one think it’s hilarious. I could see them even throwing a third 99 Griffey in the full 100% reward path. When you think about how NBA 2K literally has like 5-10 99s for all the big names, for them to pick a player like Griffey and “test the waters” with this approach is awesome.

I think you are all just wishing at this stage. Why would they do two 99's? Kind of defeats the purpose for a 99

Because a) it’s happened before (albeit not in this manner at all) and b) the other games do it.
Now, I think the last thing any of us want is for SDS to go in the direction of EA or 2K, but it’s pretty standard and with NBA it’s ridiculously over the top with how many 99s each player has. That’s why I think picking a transcendent player like Griffey to see how people respond to this technique is quite smart compared to simple 2K-esque overkill.

Because Griffey Jr is a fan favorite, because he was a 5 tool player and the attributes for this card do not reflect that, because at this stage of the game cycle below 95 contact is almost unusable… there are more reasons why but these three should be enough

2020 we actually had 3 diamond Griffey. We had the post season, the 1997 mvp and the HRD 98 overall. Plus the 83 rookie card.
This year we only have a gold a low diamond and this "99" griffey. He should be getting another card he is a fan favorite for the game. I looked at the 2019, 2020 and this year and out of the three this version is the weakest all around. 19 and 20 his fielding was identical. He had better over all hitting in 19 but he had max power for righties and near max in contact for rightiest.

They didn't give the card the wrong stance. Griffey has 2 stances in the game, it's just that his early years stance is way worse than his prime stance
-
His swing is / has always been fire.
The card is useable. You parallel 5 him he’s gonna be nasty…
Guaranteed to play over attributes.
