99 Yadi

Has anyone used this card yet? I’m thinking of picking him up to try him. I don’t remember ever using a 99 Yadi in the past, they usually focus on his defense. Since he is one of the best defending catchers, they couldn’t take that away, but now he has good offense too.
Thanks.

I’ve never personally used him but I’ve heard people say he’s surprisingly good. Better than his stats show.

I haven't had much successes with him yet, he's hitting well but right at the other fielders. I did hit a double with him in my last game last night though and the ball does bounce off his bat, I think it might be the best Yadi we've had and for 45k he's well worth it.

Contreras is hitting too well for me to take him out of the lineup, so I took Votto.

He is not too bad. His card is slow but not like 0 speed in the past. Imo his arm seems better than Contreras. I also have Biggio on the bench just incase I need some more speed.

Yeah what @mubby_33_PSN said. He is slow as are most catchers but not a 0 like in past years. His defense is insanely good and I think he's got some decent pop especially to right center (though that's more likely because I'm late alot). I'm bias but he's one of my favorite catchers though Napoli, Mauer and Carter are all great too.

I am using Biggio now. I like having the speed too. This Biggio doesn’t play like the one that was in collections one year. I still like him, but like trying different cards.

That Biggio card was amazing, i get that they could not make another Biggio card that good this year. Hitting wise Yadi and this years Biggio have similar hitting. The trade off is speed vs defense. So whatever you value more go with that player.

That’s who I was using before Biggio, whom I just got recently. He fit as in his speed was decent for a catcher, he has good defense and he can hit (especially lefties). I was using Houston’s FS catcher, Korey Lee before him. Contreras was like a step up from him. They both had mid 60s speed out of the box and good defense. I thought that Lee’s arm was great, I had him paralleled only a few steps and his arm strength and accuracy were both 99.
I actually picked Greinke from the pack. Votto usually has a good swing. I hope you do well with him.

He is my best new hitter and I bat him clean up behind Griff

I played a few games with a bunch of the bosses and both Molina and Kaline absolutely crushed the ball to Right Center. I loved Kaline's card last year and this year so far he's legit.
Riley Greene and O'Neil Cruz mash as well.

I'm so terrible with my catchers and I don't know why.
