Hey guys good morning - aside from the in game reporting window - how do I send a report on a users racist team name? He should be banned or reported properly - if someone can just direct me on how to do it from here on this site I would appreciate thank you
Why rat someone out. Just ignore it. That’s what I do because I don’t snitch.
are you stupid? why allow blatant racism? you guys need a smack in your head more than a ban on a game

@RikStarr1970_XBL said in how to report a users racist team name?:
Well that does offend me. I hate that word. Even being a white guy myself. So with that being said then perhaps you should report it.
That word means ignorant and fits those who use the “N” word.
So since that word offends you, now you think it is okay to report? If it only offends everyone else, then your policy is don't report because you're not a snitch? Got it.
That's not really how this works. It's a baseball game. Hate, bigotry, racism, sexism, etc has no place in The Show.

I am not sure why you would not report it.
If this person only played offline games then I say go for it, name your team whatever you want and nobody will care.
But if make your team name the N word (barely disguised) and play online then you are forcing everyone you play against to see it on their screen, in their own home, potentially with their kids around.
So if the result of me trying to protect other MLB The Show players from having that word be displayed on their tv screen is someone calling me a snitch then so be it. I am an old guy who stopped letting that word sway me 40 years ago.
What if the dude is black and only plays with black players? What if his team name is my N-words? Is that racist?

Sorry my friend, a bit annoyed at the everything is racist trend.
There is a significant difference between something being racist and something being ethnically or "racially" insensitive.
As a parent of mixed children I feel they, like everyone else ought to know the difference.
Every compliment by the opposite gender isn't harassment, every insensitive gesture or phrase isn't racist, or phobic.
Too much sensitivity is not only annoying as can be, it is a down right problem.Ask me if my sensitivities are ever trampled on, I'll tell you absolutely. Ask if I expect others to be considerate of my sensitivities, I'll say absolutely not. They never have been and never will be. So I get a little miffed at times about the overly sensitive PC ways of modern culture.
We all must act and speak exactly the same way as we are told right? Any deviation for the accepted norm is wrong right?
I'm not saying people shouldn't grow up and keep their ignorant mouths shut. I'm just saying it gets annoying to hear or read about such things so frequently. This is especially true when it isn't accurate. I'm not one to judge without more information and the questions I asked were the more information I needed to make an adequate assessment of the topic of conversation.

listen mate - the questions you asked were not even needed if you just took the time to read - most people today, like yourself, jump to conclusions without even taking the time to read - you should try to do some groundwork and read before throwing thoughts out to the wind

Lot of 12 year old users on PSN who wake up looking to offend someone.Their sole purpose of playing at all is to beat someone down. The future generation has arrived. This should be better monitored indeed, especially in team names which are clearly public and a reflection of community at large . You claim a no tolerance policy? Prove it to them .

Bottom line here, regardless of intent or interpretation, is that it is against the rules and the user knew it was against the rules because they had to get creative with numbers instead of letters just to get it past the game's filters.
I am an old guy and I think the world has gotten too thin skinned for the most part but I also believe in common courtesy and not going out of my way and breaking rules to do something that I know will offend people.
This is Sony and SDS's playground. They have rules. Those rules were purposefully broken so I am not going to have sympathy for the user in question.
-
I agree that the world has gotten thin skinned. Sure there’s no need for racism in any century. Racism does not and should not belong in society. And there are rules set in place for a reason, but the way I see it, just ignore it and move on.
Like for example, I guess it’s inappropriate to use the word Indian so instead we’re suppose to use Native American. I mean as a child of the 70s, kids didn’t play cowboys and native Americans, we/they played cowboys and Indians. And what annoyed me was the fact that the Cleveland Indians changed their names because I’m sure enough people cried about it. Cleveland Indians had been the Indians for at least 100 years and now they changed their name. Thin skinned indeed.
-
The same people who claim society is too woke or thinned skinned tend to descend from the parents who complained about desegregation. Times change and society evolves. Trying to conserve the old ways because of a personal nostalgia is like trying to stop rain from falling. The Native Americans had their own names before Colombus arrived. They were called Indians because that idiot was lost and too stubborn to admit it. So perhaps some Native Americans and liberal minded people lobbied for a name change. Big deal. Move on. The Guardians, I will admit, is a dumb name. I would have named them the "Flammable Rivers" or something else that the rest of the country thinks of when they hear Cleveland.

Not because my questions were not answered I can't say it is against the rules. This is all out of context to me.
I'm very serious. Racist statements are against the rules and racism is wrong. If they felt the name was racist they should report. Then SDS can judge. My point is that we ought not simply assume anything.

Now see, here is a real baseball issue.
The Indians could have simply changed their logo from a derogatory cartoon native to an empowering Chakra. Perhaps they'd have gained a huge international following. Maybe even cause baseball to be favored over cricket in India. -
