He was release very late last year. Many thought this was going to be his best card given they teased “are you ready to grind?”. It’s a 24 point player program with a bad card

Would be cool if they added a stage two into the program like in POTM and you did missions with this Jr. to evo him up to like a 99 MVP card

Years past the content was there even if the gameplay was behind. This year really stands out for me the Content isn’t there (Worse than last years IMO) and the gameplay is well the same.

I do need 2nd half heroes cards for Cutch, but dayam. Glad I'm at work and am just finding out. And 24 points? Shoulda made it 30, lol.
Grind? Ha.
My pants were around my ankles for this. Now I have to pull them up. -
I opened the program, looked at the path and rewards, closed the program and turned off the game. Maybe near the next collection or if I need the program points in a week but not wasting my time now for that one. Juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

That is the perfect statement!
However, to your point about last year, the good 99 Griffey Jr. was always dropped very late in the last few years game cycles. In MLBTS 20, he was the solo boss in the last inning before the forever inning (like Pujols last year). In ‘19 he was a late inning boss. As you stated, they did hype this up. I don’t know if it’s because they don’t like Griffey, or, most likely, they want people who might move to a different game to stay with them.
You do make a good point with the 99 Ortiz card.
As you are, I am flabbergasted myself! -
They will likely drop a 99 Takahashi Griffey, but by that point most people wont even care

Same I closed the app so fast it wasn’t even funny might be time for a break . Lost all motivation to play it is what it is time to do something else .

Maybe.Something tells me maybe they changed there mind last minute and saved the version we was supposed to get today for later . I just don’t get the hyping up the grind for 99 like it was going to be something crazy and we got this instead. something seems off they knew the community would react this way u would think it’s obvious.

I was thinking the same thing, but without the elite speed of Mateo.
Jr's OVR is inflated because of the fielding, which no one cares about.

I was listening to someone talk about this and I kind of agree that this may have been done because of all the negative statements that they have been getting from the community.
Now, I am hoping that they add a second 99 Griffey to this program; however, that is a little unrealistic. This card is similar to a lot of 95s and 96 overalls. It is free; but, the way SDS hyped it up makes me think they were just giving the finger to anyone that has been complaining. I think they did it at a bad time, especially when other games are coming out.
I really only play this game, mainly to the toxic environment that surrounds many other sports games. I hope people don’t leave. Maybe SDS will do what they did for the Betts card last year and at least give Griffey attributes to make it a little more usable. I’m not saying they have to make it an end game version, just boost his contact.
Again, I don’t want to sound ungrateful that they gave us a free card, but why did they hype the fact that it was a 99? I think it was a bad decision by them. I do understand their frustration with the community, but I think that they picked a bad way to show it and at a bad time. -
This card looks like the 97 All Star Buxton with less speed.
