J rod or Soto?
-
I have them both but I have Soto in the lineup and J-Rod on the bench. Soto’s swing is just too [censored] good and I seem to hit better with him than J-Rod on HOF/Legend.
Neither of them is winning a gold glove anytime soon though. J-Rod has had so many bad/delayed reactions to go for a ball and Soto is just a bit slow.

Soto is basically as close to an auto homerun you can get. His defense will kill you though but worth it for that bat
-
I hit much better with Soto. Wish that his speed and defense were better.

Wait til the shark map is released, most likely will have asg packs, and might lower the prices.

I took JRod because he was a couple thou cheaper. when i use either it will be the AS card.
I would think JRod and Soto are mostly the same, one a righty one a lefty, only difference is JRods speed, which will be a difference if its not a homer(which will probably be rare) -

Well which ever one will be my last card to buy lol. I’ll start by getting the 100k ones and hope for the best

soto is better with his swing, defense hasnt been an thinng im worried about. and if you get cutch like I do then j rod is not going to be in cf. I have clemente in RF atm and may get around to getting jrod for him

So I have McCutchen working on finishing the all star. I have 3 cards to get Jackie. manoah and Stanton for sure, but I have to buy 1 big boy I’m coming up on 200k stubs…..do I go Soto or Jrod? Which is more fun
Since they are HRD cards, both are lacking defensively. The saving grace is that Jrod still has his speed, even if put into the corners. Personally, I went with Soto because I've been doing well with AS J-rod in the event (and I feel the AS Jrod is better than AS Soto so the HRD Soto was a bigger improvement)

As for JRod, his AS card has much better defense. Soto I just would use as a bench bat, so I would like the HRD. I don’t have it, so I cannot say for sure though. They did his AS card no justice.

Soto has the crucial differential between CON and PWR that means balls hit in the air are more likely to be HR in this year's lineout simulator. Read the strategy guide for hitting, last page (available in-game). Guys with equal CON-PWR hit more line drives, even if it's 100-100. Guys with substantially higher PWR than CON hit more fly balls.
What makes him potentially the best hitter in the game is that the differential is there but his CON is still very, very good.

The biggest difference is soto has active quirks "Dead red, first pitch hitter, breaking ball hitter, rally monkey" so your PCI size will be slightly increased in certain situations as well as a small bonus. Also i believe soto is listed as a pull hitter where jrod has balanced. but those swings are not the same haha

Yes, active quirks do make a difference. It’s partly why people are still waiting to pay 1 million stubs for Trea Turner’s Finest card in last year’s game. The quirks and, of course, his swing.

I'll vote Soto even though Rodriguez has been better for me. I think despite the defense, Soto is the much better player. I believe I am just pressing with him. Only reason to consider Rodriguez is he is a right handed bat with speed. So if you are stacked with lefties already maybe go with him.
