0-6 against Jorge Lopez in Showdown

Lopez was a mess to get by. Ended up scoring on an infield hit while the computer turned 2 with 4 outs remaining. Shohei gave me a headache right after as well but then knocked out McCellehan in 2 batters! It jumps from Rooke to Veteran (which is not a huge jump) and it messes with the timing a little bit.

Lopez and Soto were the only ones I have trouble with. One the first one on an error on my last out.

On some of the showdowns where you start with runners on 1st and Second I purposely put a common player with good bunting skills leading off to get the runners over. I can't remember if the Lopez showdown was one of these.. Took me three tries to finish the current showdown..

Good strategy. I tend to take my fastest guys out of the lineup and put them on the bench, only to use them as pinch runners. I used Bobby Witt exclusively in that way.

I always take Common players with speed. That way you stay out of the inevitable DP. I like to do a double steal.

I always put speed on the bench also.

Face him in custom practice on Allstar or HOF. It will look like he's throwing grapefruits when you get to him again in SD.
My bad, but how do you set difficulty on Custom Practice?

You can do it normally by pressing pause and going into the settings then you can adjust the difficulty as needed. Be aware that it will save and set to default if you go into any other modes.

This was easily one of the hardest Showdowns they have had since 2020. The ones from last year weren't too bad and all of them so far for 22 have been easy enough, but this one caused some rage for sure.
The Lopez one was the toughest for me as well since you only have six outs and he throws that hard sinker so hopefully you drafted a few decent lefty bats. You do need a good mix of both sides for this Showdown because of the pitchers they throw at you.
-
If I'm desperate and there's like 1 day left to max the program, I'll try it. Other than that, I like to avoid Showdowns.
-
Pitch run for the pitcher or rearrange your lineup so your base runners are 70-80+ speed…draft players that work for you
