Idk I know someone pointed out the positions for the missions, for example the Braves is 2B for Ozzie and then 1B and OF for Freddie and Acuna which would make sense if they were doing FotF for all. Idk though, only reason I haven’t locked in Braves yet

Here’s my Predictions assuming they still are active players ranging from gold or lower:

    Red Sox: Bogaerts
    Yankees: Gardner
    Blue Jays: Giles
    Orioles: Chris Davis
    Rays: Kiermeirer

    Indians: Carrasco
    Tigers: Miguel Cabrera
    White Sox: Abreau
    Twins: Berrios
    Royals: Salvador Perez

    Angels: Pujols
Astros: could really be any of those cheaters but I’ll guess Reddick
    Rangers: Andrus
    Athletics: Sean Manaea
    Mariners: who knows, Vogelbach?

    Nationals: Tre Turner
    Marlins: Urena
    Braves: Soroka
    Mets: Syndargaurd
    Phillies: Hoskins

    Pirates: Taillon
    Cubs: Schwarber
    Cardinals: Carpenter
    Brewers: Braun
    Reds: Castillo

    Dodgers: Muncy
    Rockies: Desmond
    Diamondbacks: Archie Bradley
    Padres: Hosmer
    Giants: Sandoval

Now I’m kind of hoping they change it up and instead of doing just present players, use past players. For instance, like a Kevin Youkillis for the Red Sox or a Tim Lincecum for the Giants.

For the padres to get a good hosmer flashback, he’d have to have a good season there...

Didn't want the Royals to sign Gordon. Hugely overated player in Royals history. Didn't want them to sign Hosmer either for that amount. Glad they didn't but he is still a better overall player than Gordon.

    Hosmer
    9 seasons
    9.9 WAR, 107 wRC+, -7 DRS/-27.1 UZR

    Gordon
    13 seasons (2 injury shortened)
    32.1 WAR, 103 wRC+, 112 DRS, 87.3 UZR

    Who's overrated???
Hosmer is as overrated as it gets...
Gordon has always been slightly underrated if anything, for his career... He's an amazing fielder.
Hosmer isn't even half of Gordon for his career...

What plagued Gordon was that he never lived up to the hype offensively. I remember the huge debate was Braun or Gordon. Both playing 3B coming into the league. Braun had huge offensive years (helped by HGH but thats a whole other conversation). Gordon was an elite defender. Just never broke out as an elite hitter

Yup, he had massive hype. Was supposed to be the next George Brett. It's funny that he turned out to be a light hitting historically excellent defender in LF of all places, but carving out a +30 WAR career is still fantastic.

Hosmer on the other hand has done nothing to warrant that contract he got, and should have no place owning 3 GGs

There is no evidence that points to Hosmer being better than Gordon. In fact...all the evidence says the contrary.

I feel like they missed a chance with TA that they set up perfectly. I'm stuck in an online class, so this'll probably end up a rambling.

If they broke it up into the 4 seasons, that opened the door to do some great thematic ideas.

They could have done something like Spring: Rookies, Summer: Breakouts, Fall: Award Winners, Winter: FotF (or Finest). (I've given this very little thought)

That opens up more access to content, and can build the cards up instead of releasing a ton of diamonds right away while getting increasingly good content throughout the season.

My guess is its gonna be a generational thing. First start with live series players like they did, then go to early generations of the teams 20's-60's, then 70's-mid 90's, then finish it with late 90's-2000's players. Streams made it seem like they got a good amount of 90's-2000's players so I think that will be the final TA players

I got a bad feeling about the affinity cards. I think we’re gonna get these monster cards out of there that will be used for the rest of the season so I’m hoping they take a while to put them out.

There couldn't be a list of players for the previous eras for some of the teams (Marlins, Rockies, Rays, etc). I would love to see more early historical players, but I dont think the TA section is where they do that.

Like was mentioned earlier, it's probably 3 players from each current team.

Did they say we would get new cards with the seasonal updates? I hope there are, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we just got stubs or more packs. Maybe the lock packs with a gold or something.

I'm of the same opinion, would be great if they did, however adding 120 grindable diamond players seems like a tall order. First wave were strong cards, three more encores....I'm not sure.

One of those numbers guys huh? Do you watch the Royals? I watch them all the time. Hosmer is better in almost every offensive category than Gordon with 1,000 less ab's. Although Gordon has more steals, Hosmer would beat him in a foot race. WAR is really not a great stat. It just says Gordon's replacement was worse than Hosmer's.

I say spring are guys who had a long lasting impact on a team 90-93 , Like a prime Gardner for Yankees or a flashback rookie judge , at the end you’ll get a 99 marquee like mo or Gehrig for Yankees as example , the summer one 93-97

Hosmer's rookie year you could argue was similar to Gordon's best season in 2011. Hosmer also played in 23 less games.

Oh buddy... We all watch baseball. I've seen Hosmer play a billion times. Watching him play means nothing when his end result shows in the stats. Why I put wRC in there along with defensive stats was to illustrate more than just WAR, that Hosmer is not as good. He's a first baseman. He should rake because that's what 1B is supposed to do. He does not. Never did.. and he is a subpar fielder too, so what does he provide?
And if you use the argument, "well 1B has actually been a weak position the last 10 years compared to anytime in history." You would be correct.. which makes Hosmer look even worse, since that is what WAR accounts for.

The numbers tell the full picture. Not watching him with bias.. and numbers just told you how it is.

i think we're more likely to see some flashbacks than we are current players. not really from the dead ball era or even that far back. don't have some in mind for all teams, but here are a few i think would be fun to see:

    Rays: Chris Archer
    Red Sox: Dustin Pedroia
    Yankees: Andy Pettitte
    Royals: Greg Holland
    Angels: C.J. Wilson
Rangers: Josh Hamilton (longshot, but first for everything, right?)
    Nationals: Gio Gonzalez
    Mets: R.A. Dickey
    Phillies: Cole Hamels
    Cardinals: John Lackey
Cubs: Carlos Zambrano (would say Arrieta, but he usually gets a higher flashback later)
    D-Backs: Justin Upton
    Rox: Troy Tulowitzki
    Dodgers: Matt Kemp

I'm guessing they stay in a closer time frame for TA and venture further in the past for other flashbacks

Idk I know someone pointed out the positions for the missions, for example the Braves is 2B for Ozzie and then 1B and OF for Freddie and Acuna which would make sense if they were doing FotF for all. Idk though, only reason I haven’t locked in Braves yet

I thought about that oo, but if they release a juiced Soroka card I need it bad.
