How good are you really in ranked??
-
I’m no prize. But over the years I’m probably sitting at a .600-.650 win percentage. I see a lot of feedback here of people saying they are 40-10, 45-8 and so on. Are you guys really that good? And if so why aren’t you streaming? And if not, what is your shtick? Base hits? Home runs? Pitching? I’d love to know what the play is to be that good
-
I think I’m 52-14 or something with half of the losses coming from a faulty LAN cable..
My shtick is definitely pitching as I have to go into a game fully confident in my SP as well as having deepest bullpen possible
I usually score just enough to win most games and my strategy for offense is once a player slumps he usually gets replaced with a better option that could go on a hot streak
Lineup should be as balanced as possible and bench should be full of players that are just as good

A lot of people take it very seriously. Only use god squads, offer friendly quits if their opponent has a good record, play the bare minimum of games to get rewards then wait til the season resets to play easier people. It seems like this game people care about their records way more than other games I’ve played.

I used to be good until this year. Pitch speeds in HOF for me are all over the place. Also switching to PS5 has seemed to have a pretty bad effect on me along with being almost 50. Long story short, I used to be a WS player and now struggling to stay 700.

I agree with this
I don’t even have any of the collections done but once I get into a ranked game it’s all about competing to get the W
Although once you make WS the reason resets at 700 (HoF) so you can’t really play easier people
Also theme teams could be just as good as god squads if they have then pitching to support

I’m 50-11, and can say I honestly never offer friendlys. I’ve accepted a few here and there but I’d say 80% of the time I’m offered one. I am a person who plays limited games to get to ws. My reasoning mainly is I rarely can just chill for 45 mins and play a ranked game. I like my breaks to where i can play mlb to be 20 mins. So I’ll play events a lot or br. I never played FIFA and 2k is mostly my player, but madden if I recall was a lot more team overral that linked match making? Aka you play with a 90 you Match someone 85-95 not ranking.

I've played, I think, 15 RS games all year. I have a 9-6 record and I haven't used my 'GOD SQUAD' at all.
I've been playing to get PXP for Programs. First it was June MA players to finish that program. Now I'm running a squad of players from this program's FB/Legend Diamond packs. Could I get the PXP by playing Conquest and 9 inn CPU games; yes. But that seems to bore me.
I've found Ranked much more 'fun' going in with the mindset that I don't care about a win or a loss, my pitcher's ERA, or my hitter's avg and I seem to have more fun with that mindset.

For op, I’m 50-11,
Prior to adding sale and burnes my starters era is 1.5. Johnson .59 glavine 2.8 jobe .38 ( 1 er in 24 inning) mussina 1.96. All the guys I mention have 40 plus innings pitched and it’s only ranked. I use meter as well. I’ve always considered myself a dominate pitcher and scrap across runs but this year my hitting has bumped up too with my batting average being around 380. ( marte lowest 348 in 160 at bats highest Brett 408). I hit a lot of singles and doubles. I think my strongest thing is recognizing patterns: what they throw and when. When I pitch I use that to my advantage oh I know he is looking slider here down and in, I’m going to throw it but it’s going to be a ball and he’s going to chop this into the ground for an out. Being patient is huge too. Knowing how certain pitchers work by just playing: degrom all hard stuff, Miller ppl love the fastball, Burnes is cutter or sinker in, slider away or down and it that’s it, Tandy Johnson pray -
Been playing since 16’ over the years I’ve progressed I can say I’m an above average player right below the pro gamers this year I’m 58-15 in Rank hitting about .300

I’m with you. Starting pitching and bullpen is an absolute must. As far as lineup maybe that’s where i lack, i prefer speed as opposed to guys who use someone like Miggy or whoever with mediocre speed. I raked last year but i just find it crazy some of these records i see on this forum.

For some reason I’ve had less success with speed guys this year I think because fielding has gotten much easier.. Now I’m looking for bat to ball skills
Also have to be ready to swap out even your favorite players for example I was absolutely raking with 93 Ketel Marte had like a .333 average batting average batting 2nd & every time I pressed X it would be a home run I was like geez this card won’t leave my lineup for a while.. card was literally carrying me to wins on offense.. all of a sudden I started slumping real bad for no reason got down to like .265 and swapped him out with Xander Bogaerts (who has a sweet swing but didn’t have a chance with a glitchy Marte playing SS. Boom instantly starts out hot with 2 HRS and an RBI in his first 3 games to contribute to wins

There’s a lot more people out there who treat those games like serious real games than you think. Why, idk. It’s their thing I guess.
-
I almost got to 600. Was at 595 and I gave up 3 in extras to loose
-
I'm 65-38 or something like that. I am terrible at hitting once I get above All-Star difficultly, but can still pitch well at higher levels so once in a while I'll luck in to a win on HOF. It's nice this year with the rewards being attainable without having to win so basically once I get above all star I just don't stress too much about getting smoked.
-
2nd year I’m 10 above 500, but I’m 9-1 in my last 10 since switching to PCI from meter. I always heard it was worth it but was afraid of the change…..well I was wrong. Don’t tell my wife
-
I’ll tell you a secret. Anyone with a record that good picks a chooses when they play to boost there record and look better than they are. For example the last week of the season when everyone who’s comp has already hit WS the 60-8 crew is out. I’m 19-1…I haven’t played a good player all year outside BR or Events lol.
I’d wager anyone with a 80-90% win rate in RS and less than 80 games has about a 50-60% win rate in events when you play random people good or bad, and not just hand picked opponents stuck in between 500-700 with a week left in the season.
Ego lifting at its finest. Just ask yourself why someone who is 45-5 wouldn’t want to actually make WS every season (way more games needed) and cash in on 150,000 stubs. They stop before they get there so the record stats intact.
-
I’m always a little more concerned in any level when I see someone who has a lot of games and it’s around .700 winning percentage. There’s some out there and they tend to be the pure grinders and game players that usually are the toughest to play.

Honestly... I'm pretty sure I'm... not all that great. In my defense, I am pretty much BRAND NEW to the whole playing online thing. I have wanted to play online for a couple of years now... but for whatever reason, I just couldn't bring myself to actually do it. At least, until recently. I think I did reasonably OK while I was in the Spring Training division. After I picked up a few wins, and bumped up to Regular Season though, the fact that I'd let myself get good and comfortable playing RTTS at Veteran has kind of caught up with me, and I have had me some troubles at the plate.
And now that I'm like one win away from being bumped up to All Star, (really, I'm right THERE on the cusp)... I have a feeling that situation is only gonna get worse.
Maybe it's for the best that one win has been slow in coming.
My own fault. I've spent so much time playing at Veteran because it's challenging enough... but I can still be great, and therefore it stayed fun for me. Plus, like I said, I never really played online, so I didn't think it mattered what I did.
But now that I have found my way into ranked seasons... that's all changed. So I guess my big goal now is to try and get better.

AS im probably a .650/.700 player.
HoF - No, i dont enjoy it. Anytime i play on it i am lucky to get 5 hits, just not interested.
Im super casual gamer. Want to have fun. HoF is not fun to me.

I’m 139-109, can’t hit but somehow lucked into more wins than losses and that is having all the best cards since the beginning of the year. I’d hate to see my record without them
