Question to Cardinals fans
-
Do you like Ozzie Smith being in the game or would you rather have him replaced with another Cardinal legend? I get his popularity but his in game offense is pretty lacking.
By the way his backflip card art is awesome -
That is a tough question. As much as I love Ozzie, his card does not perform that well in the game. As for whether I would prefer a replacement? It depends on who it would be.
That said, he is the one that will take first.

He has to stay in the game, at least until this team can be completely re-formed:

By the way his backflip card art is awesomeYeah I generally have no interest in anime stuff or this Takashi series, but the Ozzie backflip art is the best by far.
Will be adding that dope card art to my collection ASAP.
But yes, it will collect dust and never get used.

For me, I appreciate having him in the game as a collector's item, especially with the cool art. Last year, I tried using a few of his cards and couldn't hit. So yeah, he'd make a fun theme team piece. That's about all.

Other than being a switch hitter, I think the this Ozzie card will be inferior to the Masyn Winn card, which is a shame but it is what it is.

Exactly how I see it. As much as I love Ozzie, this new card really has no use in the current game.

I will wait for his price to drop low bc I am using FS Winn now, but he is always my SS when dropped

Not a Cardinals fan, but I think Ozzie has to be in the game. One of my favorite players to watch as a kid.

Yeah, not a Cards fan either, but I always love having cards from players I grew up watching. Sure I wouldn't want the Wizard in a line up in RS, but I may throw him out there in mini-season for fun, especially if there is a mission he can help me with.

I’m an Ozzie fan. I remember watching the ‘82 series as a kid. I think he’s hands down the best defensively I’ve ever seen. But I’d rather have Willie McGee or Scott Rolen. Tom Herr from ‘85. Jack the Ripper. Several I’d rather have than the Wiz. His card has never played well in the game.

Contact hitters need to be more valuable. Something needs to change.

I've said a '85 MVP Willie McGee card would be nice. He would have great contact (.353 Avg), speed (56 stolen bases), and fielding (he won the GG that year), but fairly low power (only 10 HR).

Not never. In 17 I used his gold rookie card in events and got lots of hits, even vs LHP which had low contact. But yes starting with 18 Power became the only attribute that mattered and his cards became useless.

Agree with you. Contact hitters are useless. It’s either bomb or bust yet again this year.
