That’s awesome man. Best part of my week is my Sunday league. It’s legit fast-pitch baseball and here in California there’s some very good talent. A lot of former minor leaguers/D1 college baseball players. I hadn’t played in 8 years before joining and it’s been super hard to get good at hitting with all that time off and limited reps.

I’m basically the opposite. Short, fast, can’t hit very well but can leg out some infield hits, steal some bags and play solid defense. If I’d compare myself to any major leaguer it would probably be Garrett Hampson lol.

Brother that sounds amazing. Something I’d love to get into ideally a few years ago before the office life added some pounds lol

Our league is pretty competitive. Even the worst team has 10 competent players so it’s always a hell of a tournament at the end

That’s super cool. Ive always been hesitant to join a softball league just because I am a competitive person and usually they’re too laid back for my interest but it sounds like you found a good one.

Very well done, great line. I love softball. Now my leauge is just a beer leauge but all the same still fun to get out and play at least once a week.

I'm a singles machine though but i have speed, rest of the team sluggs, won today 21-20, 5-1 on the year now.

I’ve seen both sides of the coin. Played in leagues where there are players who never played baseball. Still fun but I much prefer the higher competition of my Wednesday league

That was the defending champs we beat last night and we lost to them in the finals last year. Needless to say it felt good

You sound just like my brother lol. We’re complete opposites. He’s fast, skinny, covers a lot of ground in left center and is good for line drives

I’m up there looking to clear the bases or find the RF gap at minimum and depending on the situation, get me a pinch runner lmao

The pinnacle of my week is the Wednesday night mens softball league I play in.

    For context, I’m 6’3” pushing about 260lbs.

They say I resemble Daniel Vogelbach rounding the bases

But I also [censored] on the ball like Voglebach as well

The squad hit 2 grand slams in the same inning and Doobie was responsible for the 2nd one. An absolute no doubter to RF and knew it once I connected

Ended up 4-5, HR, 2 doubles, 6 RBIs and 4 runs. Also pencil in 3 pinch runners but hey, Doobie gets on base for you

Anyway, I love softball. It fills the void that organized baseball left. The boys walked away with the W 22-17 and that makes us 1-1 on the season

I’ll be back in 14 days (bye week next week) with another box score for you fellow forum goers

What type of softball ? I pitch Mens modified fast pitch here in Brooklyn - also dudley tournaments in the surrounding areas

You are soooo right by saying it fills the void that organized ball left behind. It felt like something was missing until I joined a LG. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the great night at the plate!

There’s few things I miss more than playing baseball and football. Softball and golf are their replacements at this point lol appreciate it

Nice, I hope to play when I reach 55. Team I played last night had a player, probably in his late 40s, early 50s, and dude was hitting rockets all over the field. Love it

    Very nice, Doobie!
The best comparison for me would be 2020 Chris Davis with the fielding of Big Hurt and throw precision of ‘99 Knoblauch.
