hit and run cheese??

You mean the strategy? I guess pitch out. That is what they do in real life.
-
I’ve only played one guy like this in Online Rated (played him like 2-3 times before I just blocked him). My best counter strategy was to mess with his timing with quick pitches, slide steps, pitchouts and even just letting the pitch timer wind down. Luckily I use the Phillies and JT Realmuto is a top arm and I’m great with throw down timing but yeah it’s just an annoying battle you gotta deal with.

I avoid the hit and run usually 100 percent of the time but only if the opponent is one of those who always takes an extra step off the bag. I will purposely throw a wild pitch and let them get to second and that’s when if they take the step off of second base, i usually will cover 2nd matching the batters side (ex. With righty batter use ss to cover 2nd and lefty then use 2nd baseman to cover) and then do a quick pick off to 2nd and for some odd reason always gets them out. Legit

What’s a hit and run? I seen a message “hit and run situation” in mini seasons but don’t know what that is.

its like a stolen base, but in this case it can be a slow runner and you try and hit the ball with the batter and with the defense out of their spot to cover the steal it opens holes or with the runner already moving it gets you extra bases( like a quick fielded single would be 1st and 2nd, but with the hit and run its 1st and 3rd) could also be done to avoid a double play.
dont see it often anymore cause if the batter doesnt make contact its usually an easy caught stealing. -
The issue I have seen in the past with it is that fielders will move towards the bag for the steal taking them completely out of position to make the play on the ball. That is true to life, but if the ball is hit to where they are running they will field it, but in the show the seem to ignore the ball in play in favor of trying to get the runner out. And while it is strategy, you don't see it with every runner in real life, so people who do it with every base runner are cheesy in my opinion. I do obow there are people in this board who do it. You will also see people run and hit. Try to steal and see that it was slide step or bad jump and the batters will swing.

Why do people always call things they don't know how to stop cheese?
-
But with hit and run, the object is to hit the ball on the ground preferably in the gap. But if you hit and run and hit the ball in the air to be caught, you have to go back to previous base or it could turn into a double play
