What’s with the “no-throw” fielding yips?

Offline player here. This has happened for at least the fifth time just now, where your fielder gets the ball but won’t throw it. He makes the arm motion but holds the ball, so he looks like an idiot doing this five times in a row while all the runners advance. It’s happened to both infielders and outfielders, and cost me a few games. I never encountered this in previous years (and no, it’s not throw cancelling). Happening to anyone else?
