Maybe my understanding of the PCI is wrong but the "outer" is still part of the pci

Come on bro. They are not slow with large PCI. We can agree to disagree but I can tell you compared to 19 the pci is not bigger and the pitch speeds are much faster on AS. You can barely hit a high inside fastball. You may be able to but the majority of us cannot.

I could care less about wins and losses if it isn’t fun..what’s the point?
Ain't that the truth. I could handle going 0-10 if the game felt real and didn't have to witness all the bizarre shenanigans the AI dumps on us to "make it more exciting". I guess to the programmers or their managers or their managers or their Directors or their CEO (whatever..ha) fun is every game going down to the wire and one player or the other getting the where-did-that-come-from homerun to decide it.
That's not fun.

I agree 100% with you here. It’s not the same (or at leas it seems like it) as it was last year. And I made World Series 6 or 7 times last year so it’s not like I can’t hit anyways. Somethings changed and it’s not for the better

The center pci is the only one that counts, you don’t hit it in there and you foul or mis

Sadly don't bother with meter. Even if you get perfect release the pitch still isn't close. Same ish as analog. Either clearly a ball or right down the middle. Any decent batter with even a little bit of patience will destroy even your best pitchers.
Yea, tried analog and gave up 3 runs before I could blink. Pitches going down the middle on that too but I was missing my mark. Need to check my controller. I've never had an issue hitting marks with analog and just can't now no matter what I try.
Just faced Oswalt on all star and physically couldn't react to the pitches. I felt like an 80 year old trying to play this game. Hit better and better record on HOF event if you don't count the first 6 games I did not switch my pitcher fast enough.
-
So just won that game somehow. Think I was little billy this game. Couldn't physically react and reading pitches was non-existent. Game wasn't fun at all. No, I am not elite but made WS every season I have tried but one last year. I don't have a prayer of reaching WS in this game. By far my worst average and ERA is creeping up because I can't hit a corner. Hell, I can't even reach DS and am 34-10 in the HOF event. Most of those losses were because in the beginning I was leaving my pitchers in too long. Reliever tire after 2 batters so you have to take them out after 3. At least my pitchers do.

This isnt because the pitch speed is faster though. It is the timing window that changed. And it needed to. Last year it was way too easy and unrealistic to foul balls off that you were early or late on. This year you are missing those pitches instead. It was a much needed change. It actually helps you as a hitter a lot too. Because instead of getting a weak contact foul pop up and get out you will miss and as long as you didnt have 2 strikes you get another swing.

Yeah, the outer PCI seems to be completely useless. The inner one is the one that determines contact with the ball and it is WAY smaller than pre-patch. It’s about what HOF size was last year, and nobody was complaining about that.

It helps the hitter to miss the ball entirely? LOL You do realize that most foul balls are not caught and that you get another pitch even if you have 2 strikes when you foul the ball off?

Last night, for 27 outs I swear 20 if them were balls that were literally half in/out of the edge of the pci. I couldn't square anything up but could literally get the ball on the edge of the pci every time

The outer PCI is not completely useless, you just have to think of both PCIs as percentage adjustments. The outer PCI has a very low chance of generating a hit, while the inner PCI has a much higher one.
This means you can get a hit with the outer PCI, but it will be rare.
The PCIs are just visual indicators of variables that get factored in to the calculation that determines potential hit outcome.
