I was so upset to learn that the Doc died in an airplane crash after he retired. I didn't look him up for like a decade and read it all on Google. So sad.
Don't google Kobe then.
I never get sentimental over celebrities I never met but I will admit that his death did hurt a bit, mainly due to his daughter

Right. I am a few months older than he was with daughters of similar age. It sucks.

"You'll find his plaque in baseballs hall"
"You'll" doesn't mean it's a current HOFer. The wording could mean future HOFer.
I mean, I guess you're technically right. However I think that's a pretty big stretch to disprove a theory. I'd bet SDS isn't going to get themselves in the habit of predicting who's going to be a hall of famer.

So I'm not downplaying how tragic it was for Halladay's family but look up the actual circumstances.
Halladay's risky behavior was a major factor here. Still incredibly awful, but he wasn't a completely innocent victim:

2 HOF'ers played with both Delgado and Howard. Pedro and Halliday. Pedro isn't a new legend.......
Where was this clue, I missed this one
In the show.com website under news. Not the forums.

Just giving full disclosure. It sounded like this was the first he was hearing of the Halladay news, and although sad, thought it was appropriate to mention the real circumstances behind it.

Ok fine. Let's just hide the truth and let people assume he died in a tragic plane crash, helping others in a saintly way (like Clemente for instance).

Not saying you are wrong, just saying that the comment of the circumstances of his death was irrelevant in this forum. Example: I could say that Roy Halliday preferred his steak medium rare. I may be correct but no one was talking about how he likes his steak or how he messed up

While I don't think it NEEDED to be brought up it is relevant. Every time someone brings up a Jose Fernandez card the first 5 comments are people talking about how he died. Overall tho I don't think any of us should be judging how someone died, we don't know anything about their circumstances leading up to these situations.

You're acting like no one had even mentioned the plane crash before me and how "sad it was".
This had already been brought up before me. I just gave it more context with the full truth.
But anyway, I make it a point to not waste my time arguing with anyone online.
Sorry to bring up the sad truth everyone! But I'm done responding.

Upvote on the Jose Fernandez similar circumstances. Gladly will take the L for this one.
