This may be a dumb question but I'll ask anyway.

Is there a benefit to keeping live series players in my lineup over Fotf players? For example Buxton has a better Fotf card but would I be better off using his live card to parallel since he'll likely have a better overall as the season goes (if he stays healthy that is) and do you keep your parallel level if they update player overalls or does it reset with updates?

It's really a matter of preference, but to your second question, the PXP does not reset, even if you sell the card and buy it back.

Live series players can get boosted (or demoted) over the course of a season. Also Live series can get supercharged or affected by inside edge. Sometimes that IE boost can be huge and will outclass the FOTF card, depending on who it is.

For many many games within 1st Month Yordan Alvarez was 1 of my must use OF's. His high 90's power & swing was doing great for me. However once I had a better option overall (Contact, Vision, Discipline & Speed) for a Lefty batting Power Hitting Outfielder. I kept Alvarez on my bench until I had a better option for him there as well.

The reason why New Content is always being release every 2 to 4 werks is to provide cards that are better then the ones already released. This is why the use of LS cards become obsolete by the 2nd to 3rd month into tje season. LS cards will only really be used in BR due to the draft choices or in Events due to the required cards needed. LS cards are used in place of the Specialty cards needed for that Event & you may not have enough of those cards to field at every position.

FOTF cards are great right now but eventually their stats will be outdated. LS upgrade or downgrade. So guys like Acuna and Trout will have their LS overall go up while FOTF cards will stay at 90. If you cant afford their LS card, these FOTF cards are still valuable replacements because they also have quirks like theLS. Some of the low LS cards could potentially surpass their FOTF card. Think of guys like Chapman, JT, Buxton etc. So that becomes more of a risk versus reward. I have both Buxtons but my FOTF is P5 so he is in my lineup over the LS for right now. But everyone else I have replaced with their LS card and took the stubs when they were going for much more like 25k. I would say right now, most of these FOTF cards have bottomed out at close to QS value, so they really are budget beasts. I picked up 6 of them to test out and to put in the future set just because they were so cheap.

Buxton’s LS card may be the better play when he is facing a RHP and gets a boost to R Contact and R Power. On days where the Twins are off or he is facing a lefty the FOTF version is probably the better play.

For a silver LS like the OAK catcher the FOTF card will always be the better play. Same goes with Nellinger atm.
