Do people really play online on the Switch? I see the icon next to many top players and am wondering if they didn’t dumb it down to the point it is an advantage.

Playing on Twitch doesn't factor in to their skill level. They do that for subs and views for a nominal income stream.
I believe that most MLB the Show twitch streamers play other games too.
Now if you are looking at Nintendo Switch, then that's a problem potentially because I can't see any advantage of playing on a switch unless lag and lower frame rate helps online competitive play.

Maybe they have Switch as primary but play on PS5 or Series X? That's what i do. Not sure how that would show up in the standings.
That being said, I can barely track the ball on Switch but still manage to hit well enough. I'm not going to start wearing a foil hat, but I wouldn't be shocked if they made it a bit easier to bridge the gap

I would guess that if they play on multiple consoles, there has to be ONE that shows. Likely their most recently used console.

I have never tried playing online with my Switch Lite, I can't figure out how to turn cross play off. I am kinda curious though how it would play, I guess I should try an event game. I use my Playstation for playing RS while the Switch is just for offline stuff like mini-seasons.

Buddy of mine uses Switch and PS5. He said it's hard hard and hard to play online with the switch.

Did you check settings in the game similar to select hitting view and pitching view there is a tab in there

I dont have ny Switch with me so I cant walk you through it step by step, but if you can find your profile in the game there is a cross play toggle. I think it's symbol in the top left or right corner when you first login to the game.

Nope, never even opened it. Could not fathom playing this game on that tiny screen , little
Controls, and laggy connection speeds. -
