Really disappointed in the author of that video leaving out one crucial detail that impacted his performance:
Detective Terry Hoitz shot him!!! IN THE LEG!!! GAME 7!!!
I pulled a muscle stretching the other day and I missed a week of work….my typing speed has significantly diminished….and yet we expected him to return and still perform?!?! Shameful animals!!

Never once in my life heard that he is "the best of all time"....but he absolutely is top 10 and you can argue top 5 pretty easily. Add in the fact he was the face of a dynasty in the biggest market in the world adds to it, and he was about as professional as they came.

I watched him his whole career - he's great no doubt they don't make good players The Captain of the Yankee's.

Relax Karen. Just because he is grossly overrated that doesn't make him a bad player. No way should he be a first ballot hall of famer but in DD terms I could see him getting an 86 as his top card.

If you wanna say his defense is overrated I can definitely get behind that but as an overall player? No. I don't think you can call anyone with a career .310 batting average overrated.
There's a lot of shortstops that had a career avg. of .300+ though. Nobody is saying he was not top 50, but definitely not top 5. His defense was average at best and wasn't a great hitter, just a good hitter. Nomar had better offensive numbers and was a lot better defensively, but nobody is saying he was great.
I'm not arguing he was top 5, that was someone else. My only argument was that he is not overrated. Personally I wouldn't have him in the top 10 all time but that doesn't mean he's overrated.
This is the point though. To you he’s not overrated because you see him for what he was and what he wasn’t. He’s overrated because there is a large number of fans and baseball writers that see him for much much more than he ever was. That’s how someone is overrated.

Please name one member of the 3000 hit club who isn’t in the Hall of Fame…………..Well……………That’s because there isn’t one other than current players and Ichiro, who isn’t eligible yet. Craig Biggio was the last retired hitter who had 3000 hits and wasn’t in but now he is. If that accomplishment is overrated than I’m not sure what you would consider to be a Hall worthy accomplishment. Also, let’s just be clear, I hate the Yankees. I’m a Braves fan so if anybody has reason to make stupid statements about players like Jeter and other Yankee greats it would be me but I recognize greatness when I see it. And Jeter is certainly an all time great. And yes I am aware that his defensive metrics aren’t the greatest but that man performed on the highest stage at an elite level when it counted and that’s what matters most. So please don’t give me this cookie cutter argument that Jeter was anything other than a great player. It doesn’t hold water.

I'm not watching any videos. I know all about how the defensive metrics are suspect, but numbers don't lie. The career hits, 200 hit seasons, 30+ double seasons, .310 career average, rings, postseason clutch....you're just trolling at this point if you are putting him outside the top 10.
Let me ask you a question, does this mean Ozzie Smith is overrated because he couldn't hit the ball out of the infield?
He clutched one vs the dodgers in the playoffs to help the Cardinals get to the World Series.

Very Overrated defensively, but a great clutch player and great captain. If you look at highlight films of his defense, you’d think he was fantastic all the way around. I watched enough daily Yankee games to know that it just isn’t so. He was average defensively. Belongs in the HOF certainly. Not a fan of his post-playing days. (Frankly not a fan of Mattingly now either)

Not average defensively. Not even below average. Literally the worst defensive shortstop statistically. Dude should have been playing 2B or LF.

To Alex Rodriguez??? Another guy who can very easily be considered top 5 of all time? That's like trying to knock DJ because he shared the same infield with Cal Ripken. Still doesn't counter any of my pro-Jeter arguments.

Is Jeter the most overrated player of all time? I do not think so. Is he overrated yes I think so, Is he a HOF yes. In the since of the Media, Writers and playing for the Yankees yes he would be at the top of the list of overrated All Time.

If someone who is 6th all time in hits, 11th in runs scored, a 5 time world series champion and the face of the greatest franchise in the history of sports for 20 years isn't a first ballot hall of famer.....I would love to hear what is in your eyes.
