Just came up with this info replying to another thread, the only 3 cards in the game right now with 80+ contact and 100+ power vs both arm sides are Frank, Pujols, and Rizzo.
Yes he's slow as dirt, but if he wasn't he'd be a 95. He's also got over 70 vision and more than adequate fielding at first. He's one of the best pure hitting cards in the game, like it or not.
92 prince fielder is almost identical to Rizzo but twice as fast.
Anyone that has collections done shouldn't be expecting great replacements out of programs. Most people probably don't have collections done, those are who these cards are for.
Collections aren't that great this year except for the main three but even Frank Thomas will be hitting the bench soon he is definitely replaceable.
You could replace him if you want but he is also a card that will be valid most of the year as well. Regardless of that, your statement doesn't change the original point that I made. Programs have always been this way. Either adjust your expectations or prepare to be disappointed a lot.

Frank will be an afterthought in a month or two. He always is. It is an absolute fact. No reason for debate. End of story.

Ok buddy. Didn't realize you were the be all end all of MLB the Show card opinions. Plenty of top players would disagree with you but you feel free to be as salty as you want

I don’t think he’s getting hated on for being a bad card.. it’s just not an exciting pick because 1B is always loaded and he has no secondaries. Good for a Rizzo card but outside of being a Cubs/Yankees/Rizzo fan, he’s not that appealing and will have a short shelf life.
Also remember that literally every card will get hated on. Semien last year or the year before? was a great card at a weak position, with secondaries, and was still hated on.

This is 100% correct. Some other people like to act like we are trying to burn down the forum because we are not happy with the Rizzo card. All most of us are saying is it just doesn't excite us much. He will be good for a collection down the road. First baseman are a dime a dozen especially when you take into account how many guys can play first base as their secondary. I would have loved a juiced up Machado or Jram. That semien from last year raked. I think any position outside of first base is more useful unless as a first baseman the hitting stats are beyond juiced which Rizzo is not. Still a decent card just nothing to write home about.

The top players can use any card and be great. That literally has nothing to do with this conversation. The top players are not combing through this forum I guarantee you that. This is the same group of degenerates it has been for the last several years, myself included.

I think people would've probably agreed for the most part or just moved along if all you said is it's a good card just doesn't excite you much. The problem is making multiple topics to tell everyone how bad you think the card is

Show me where I made multiple topics and I will concede this entire waste of time. I created one thread and then this op started this thread based off of mine so I'm commenting here as well. You should really know what you're talking about before you start typing.
This is word for word what my original topic stated. "Lightning Rizzo or lightning dawson? Neither of them make my squad but I am a Cubs fan so I will at least give Rizzo a try but these are extremely underwhelming in my opinion. Call me crazy. I don't think that 80 contact holds up on Hall of Fame."

No, you're right. I went back and it was mainly other people so sorry for throwing that one at you. You did only make the one topic.

I was happy getting Rizzo. I have better cards but I like playing with different players. He has a great swing for me.

His swing is so slow. I cant seem to hit well with him. I like Jim thome and bell at firstbase.

Lol at Prince being twice as fast as anyone...

With all due respect, I always thought Rizzo was grossly overrated.
Loved watching him and the Cubbies win it all, but he's not really exceptional at anything.
He's a good ball player, not great.
He doesn't hit for a high average, has some decent pop, and is average with the glove.
Great leader. Good ball player. -
He doesn't excite anyone because he's a Yankee/vanilla player; like someone else said, really good, not great. High floor, low ceiling. I call him M. 84 because for years he seemed to be hovering around that gold/diamond line from update to update.
-
I mean I'm slowly slogging away at getting him unlocked.
My only complaint is that the biggest chunk of mission XP comes from the April POTM PXP from hitters/pitchers and right now I have Joc in OF with 3 x pitchers.
Hopefully for May's POTM they allow all POTM cards to count towards this overall XP so you can fill a full roster with players earning towards this PXP.

The thing I love about this forum is once you actually provide factual data and number based arguments you know what you get....crickets
You make valid laid out data and numbers that show Rizzo is one of the best cards in the game and for the meta this game craves an he's FREE!
Every card is free
Depending who you ask but yes they are all Free is a valid point
If you can sell the card, it’s not “free”…
-
If there were a bunch of grinds to participate in this would be a good post fact is this is the only thing to do in the game and it's pure trash so is this post you can't defend nonsense it makes you look bad

Giambi is almost the same card. I sold him when I got Rizzo.
Made 40 k stubs from selling Giambi which makes up for what I locked in addition to all the free POTM cards and free packs.
