Hdmi for ps5 question?... help

So I got a ps5 with a monitor that is 120 hz.. but im wondering if I need a new/better hdmi cable?.. thanks

I didn't rellalize hdmi come in 1.4 /2.0 and now 2.1
Just looking for some help to optimize the best picture -
Get a "Ultra High Speed" HDMI cable. First thing you need to know is what version of HDMI is the port on your monitor. This article explains everything you need to know.

If this is your monitor "Samsung Odyssey G7 S28AG70" then it has HDMI 2.1 ports.

The cable that comes with the PS5 is 2.1 enabled

Anybody else having their ps5 switch from 2160 @ 120hz to 1080 while still trying to process @ 120hz when the game launches. All my other games are playing fine

I could be wrong, but that might be an HDR+ issue.
I have been seeing notifications about resolution when I turn HDR on. It scales back down to 1080p on my older TV.

@hoboadam_PSN, my hdr is off because my tv doesn’t support it. I’ve tried everything. And it wasn’t doing this before the update on the 26th-27th

All this tech talk got me so confused.. I just spent 700$(cdn) on the samsung g7 hope it's good enough to play the game at its max for a PS5...

Its so good its overkill. You wont be disappointed with the G7.

I have a G7 but have seen conflicting info on whether it comes with 2.1 or not. I got it about 8 months ago, so I think it might not have had it then, but the newer ones do? If so, sucks.

The lady at bestbuy said it didn't have it but on the customer reviews guys said it is 2.1 ... ???

Yeah, I think I'll just have to search my model number and get the specs off the internet. I'm bracing to find out it's 2.0. Ugh.

The curved 27 inch odyssey G7 is 2k 240hz with 1 hdmi 2.0 port.
The flat 28 inch odyssey G7 is the newer model that they make now and its 4k 144hz with 2 hdmi 2.1 ports.
