Quick question. What would you do here: i only play The Show atm, i have a 28in samsung G7 with 4k, hdr, 144hz, hdmi 2.1 and vrr capability connected to my ps5.

There are 2 modes, PC and AV.

In PC mode I can use VRR but my fps in the show is 60.

If i turn AV mode on im no longer able to turn vrr on in ps5 settings but my fps is 120 in game.

Should i use PC or AV?

Why can’t sds just make an official announcement on this?

SDS's communication in all things is absolute GARBAGE.

FFS, take a page from GT7's homescreen and communicate with your players -- you know, THE ONES WHO PAID FOR THE GAME.

Funny, I have an Odyssey G7 and my ps5 says that my monitor doesn't support VRR. From my understanding, that's "Free Sync." Any help appreciated.

From what I have read here and on reddit PS5 only allows VRR with HDMI 2.1.

I have that, though -- at least, I think I do...

There is a whole reddit thread on PS5 that lists all TV's/Monitors that work with VRR. I will see if yours is on the list.

If you have AV mode turned on it wont allow you to turn VRR on in ps5 settings. If you put PC mode on VRR is there. Thats my question, which mode should I use? Cause with PC mode on i dont get 120 fps, with AV mode I do.

VRR allows the same reduced input latency as 120hz.

    VRR is the key.

Ok so I should do pc mode with VRR on and have 60fps in game instead of 120 with no vrr?

You are measuring two different things. 120hz, the monitor will tell you if it is running at 120hz. Utilities on the PC can tell you the frame rate, yet I don't think a port of those applications exist on the Xbox, so you won't be able to determine frame rates.

Also, frame rates vary, which is why the game has the 60fps+ tag in the application. System load, cable health, TV/monitor ability....all can impact the frame rate, and it is not always consistent. That is why it is marketed as "60fps+" , and not just 120fps.

So... I don't think anyone will be able to tell you the exact fps rate, only the monitor 120hz sync rate.

So I’m watching Kyle’s stream now- not sure if you’re familiar but he’s one of the most popular streamers for mlb the show and always plays on PS5

He is now saying he left ps5 for Xbox bc of the 120hz

So I’m pretty sure Xbox online is 120hz

    Lol he’s back on PS5

Ps5 controller testing after updates is lower than Xbox 120 on Xbox was not happening maybe your monitor told you it was but without vrr it's impossible to even know which mlb has not even truly implemented till the other day get off Twitter and follow people who use software to get there measurements Kyle from twitch does not know either lol
