Is this against the rules?
-
Why would there be an issue with that, supply and demand and you own all the supply.
-
Its probably a grey area. You aren't buying or selling stubs so it might be fine, but I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if that ended in a ban either

Agreed, a bit of a grey area. But a decent idea. With all the stock gone and golds maxing at 25k I would guess the sell now would hit 10k within 5 minutes.

Let's say there is a gold card of limited supply. I have enough stubs to go in and buy up all of the buy now orders. I've done the math it would be around 80 orders and the average of each would be around 4,200. Once I've bought up all the buy now orders I could sell them back when the sell now rose above the average I bought them at.
DM me with which cards you want to make a run at, and LET'S BUY THEM ALL!!!!!!

Not gonna do it today. I might try later in the year. But the card I was looking at was Hunter Greene. You can buy all of his stock for 330k.

I have seen this attempted many times…normally with diamonds and it always seems that the window of opportunity is very short. You will see it with things like old BR cards here in a few months. People see the opportunity to unload their dupes and before you know it, that margin you created is gone.

Difference is: Topps now, if you sell your card you have to buy it back to complete the collection. BR Cards will be re-released
Noone would sell there card for 10k if they saw that there were no buy now orders
-
There is no problem with the concept but you would risk the market flooding with lower bids and end up holding the cards or selling at a loss.
-
People angry that the market yesterday was being hacked, while simultaneously complaining about flipping being nerfed, exploiting and cornering it.

I promise you that is not all of his stock. SDS Adds cards to the market. When people see there are no orders they will will start listing theirs for bigger profits. You could probably make some stubs but it's still a Gamble. And no there is absolutely nothing wrong and you will not get banned anyone that says that isn't complete moron. Why would you spending your stubs to buy all of a supply of a certain card be a bannable offense? You're not doing anything wrong. I don't even know why that would cross your mind. I think you are just feeling people out to see if they think it's a good idea.

Worst case scenario is what you described and you end up are sitting there with 80 cards you paid 300k for. Even if the artificial demand you tried to create fails then you wait until all the players who sold their cards when they completed the moments run back to the market to buy back the card so they can complete the collection. If the cards reach 4200 (which they will) then you made all your stubs back.

Gotta makes stubs somehow amirite?
Not like I'm talking about going to a Korean website and buying 2 million stubs for 40 USD. That's what happend yeaterday. I agree, that should be a ban for all who did it.

I agree it's definitely not all his stock. But you wouldn't need it to be, you would only need maybe a 10 minute window to sell back as many as you can before people caught on. Even then the prices wouldn't snap back to where they were, they would slowly move back to normal.

Not sure it is against the rules and it may benefit you but it is doing so at the expense of others, at least my opinion. Your depriving others who may want the card, you could be hurting someone's ability to work on to work on collections.

As we are talking someone just made a run on cj Abrams card, so clearly I'm not the only one thinking these things

I think for a card that needs to be locked in for collections like that one for the player of the month there is no way you cannot make stops because whoever sold the card for the initial quick stubs will end up wanting to buy it back down the road unless they are not completing the player of the month program. I think you have a lot bigger than a 10-minute window people aren't going to catch on to a card like that that quick and there's only so many in circulation so there's no rush it's like an event card you can save that for 3 months and then when a bigger collection comes along it's worth a bunch but some people just need the stubs now which I understand. You should be working on Randy Johnson if you haven't got him already

Man the collection rewards stink this year. Pujols is better than frank. Frank is a bench bat for me. I'm in no hurry to spend 700k to get a pitcher I'll use every 4 games.

Yes, this very clearly violates TOS regarding market manipulation. You will get banned, especially since you posted about it here first directly stating your attempt to manipulate the market. Don’t do it.

Dang, you've already got the whole collection? I thought you sold Trout and bought up the NL. I'm 8 teams away but 6 of those are all the monsters. I could probably complete 3 or 4 but then I'd have no stubs.
Anyway, Frank didn't really do it for me either last year. I'm hoping this card is better.

No, locked in trout and completed the AL. Still lack the NL
