What are some positive aspects of gameplay from 21 to 22?
-
I think in theory pitching could be better, I say in theory because I doubt they just leave it be all year, and last year it was just to accurate. So I guess technically that's not something that is a reality now
-
Honestly if they allowed for balls contacted out of the zone…which are currently 99 percent foul…to be hit into play for lazy outs the gameplay would be improved by 1000 percent.
-
Hitting is better but contact swings are still a problem.
I mean better but it’s still not good

So basically they added a few things not directly related to gameplay.
Everyone’s experience is different, for example the posts directly before and after yours highlight several gameplay improvements that they have noticed.
What are your thoughts?
EDIT: I see your thoughts a bit further down. Cool let’s hope that’s addressed in the way you’ve mentioned.

Event lineups being saved was great. Big QOL add.
But you've been around here long enough to know it's not new. They never used to change. They removed it then reinstated a few years later.

You serious (I wasn’t around back then)? So they just remove something for a couple years, then re-insert it so that they can call it an “improvement”? That’s messed up lol
-
1- Outfielders return the ball to the infield very quickly this year.
2- Perfect throws to every base
3- Dynamic PCI (Concept is great, hopefully they’ll make it work)

I agree, it’s super fun but this is not a gameplay improvement from 21 to 22. It’s a newly added feature

No surprise here. I expect we will see them

Co-Op isn’t even playable for me. I tried like 15 times the other day with a buddy and it kept failing to load a game.
-
Not a lot. Sinkers are not spammed and outlier is not everywhere. The "new" co-op is nothing new they had it back in 2010 or 2011.
I remeber being able to play this game on a TV and hitting dingers and being able to pin point my pitches with the meter. I think games that switched to 1ms response times have ruined console gaming. Gaming used to be about going to your friends house that has the biggest tv because there dad is a hifi nerd and just wishing you had cool parents that had a great tv. Now all the twitch streamers are playing on 27inch 1 ms response time to get the slightest advantage. Bring back the component cables to make TV game relative again.

Wrong, you have never been able to save lineups in events.

What has improved in the gameplay this year?
The fact that in event when you restart your lineup is the same and pitcher's are the same is a HUGE win.........conquest is faster which is great
It seems that they may have nerfed that thing when runners automatically keep running or don't slide when they steal and keep running to third.
I do wish they would have the fielder go to their base when the ball is in play, you cant really throw behind a runner when you do the fielder is usually out of position a few times I would have nailed the runner

You could in 17, which was the first year of events. That was it though

PCI lock is pretty cool. Commentary and presentation in Franchise,RTTS, and MTO are more in depth and engaging. Hitting more balls into gaps resulting in more xtra base hits. Multiple ballplayers. Great lineup diversity early game, gold and silvers are relevant. New qwiksell values.
Anyone who thinks commentary is better this year should be forced, Clockwork Orange-style, to listen to "This guy has turned into a BEAST" on repeat for 24 hours straight.

Have you played Franchise? Or are you basing that remark solely on DD commentary exp? It's apples/oranges DD has never had full commentary like Franchise. And yes i like it's fresh and it's presented very well. It makes the mode way more immersivein my exp.
-
Absolutely. Most of my gameplay has been there. Commentary is rough. But the entire presentation package is nice, especially the crowd cam before the commercial break. That thing is awesome!
I can't get too excited about anything in franchise, though, because it's my preferred mode and SDS has blatantly neglected it for several years now. Regression is broken, scouting sucks, prospects are gross, trades are still a joke. Plus, as important to me in a way, no UI upgrades several years in a row -- franchise is a "menu mode" to a lot of people, and this one's bare bones.

You can save event lineups. Not sure if that’s gameplay , but that’s the only slights improvement I can’t think of.

I don't ever remember being able to save lineups.
