1 run game, 1B was open, a lefty was on the mound, and a lefty was on deck. The move makes perfect baseball sense. Cabrera should’ve just gotten a hit earlier in the game lmao.

What happened after the IBB makes your argument pointless. For the sake of respect Miggy should've been allowed to try for a hit. Besides there were two outs anyway and he'd already struck out twice. It's called sportsmanship.

Uhh no he shouldn’t be allowed. Are you serious? He’s not above the sport. Yankees were trying to make a baseball move and win the game. That’s like saying an NFL team should punt the ball back to Tom Brady so he can have a chance to at a TD pass milestone. You must be apart of the participation trophy era.

I am not. Are you trying to be a troll by saying that? Cute. I'm not saying it was illegal for Boone to do that, but it was terrible of him to do that. By the way an entire stadium in Detroit disagrees with you.

Sportsmanship are you serious ---its called you're a Manager of Major League Team you do what's best for your team - you're making it sound like that was his last at bat for the season. I know Detroit doesn't have much to look forward to but seriously it was the right move.

"Right" move or not, it was a [expletive] move and the world knows it, except you apparently.

Ha. The world knows it? Even the majority of the people in this thread doesn't agree with it.

This thread and forum is a small sample size compared to the millions of baseball fans out there.

So you speak for the millions of baseball fans out there, which none of us here are.

That's good to know because I thought you were just an overly disappointed Tigers fan

Thursday day game. Lots of kids there because they're off from school. As fans, it's ridiculously disappointing. Could he have gotten the hit earlier? Yeah. I'm sure there were scoring decisions during the previous 2999 hits as well.

The FANS in person on a sunny day game were let down by Boone not pitching to Miggy. Even trying to pitch around him would have shown some brass.

I'm mad as a fan of the sport. My kids are off too, and tuned in on this as well. Sure you can watch it on YouTube in a few days whenever he gets it. Not quite the same.

I'm done here. I apologize for caring. I'm certainly not a Boone fan, but we'll see what gets said by him, Miggy, MLB Network etc.

Why should Boone care about what Tigers fans think? Why should anyone other than the Tigers care what Tigers fans think? If you actually were a fan of the sport, you’d applaud Boone for making the correct managerial call and not pandering to fans and going against the best interests of his team.

Why would I applaud Boone for the IBB? I tuned in to see a hit, not a walk.

How'd that walk work out? Good decision? You are arguing for the sake of arguing.

Fans are allowed to choose who or what to root for. Enjoy congratulating Boone on his IBB. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to watch a 3000th hit live on TV.

Lol. You must be overanalyzing what I said. I never said I speak for all the baseball fans out there, I was merely pointing out that this forum is a fraction of the baseball community and the majority opinion of the forum may or may not necessarily reflect the same opinion of the forum.

    It's called statistics.

Disagree with this... the manager did exactly what he should have done to give his team the best chance to win. Sportsmanship is one thing, but it's not giving the opposing team a better chance at beating you. It's not like it was the last game of the year... he has all year to get his hit.

Because it was the correct decision LMFAO

The odds were in favor of Meadows not getting a hit against a lefty, but the odds in baseball are never zero. Just because the unlikely outcome happened, doesn’t mean the decision was incorrect. You can be as much of an emotional crybaby as you want, but the odds, statistics, and situation back up the decision to walk Cabrera.

All these goons telling me what a good baseball decision today was. Haha. Let's play a pull shift on Jeter with a RHP on the mound and runner on second. Somebody understood the assignment in Baltimore.

Last Tigers WS appearance was 2012.

    Last Yankees WS appearance? 2009.

I'll wait for the 27 pennant comment though.

I have the stones to admit I tuned in to watch Miggy get his hit. I have two sons and we all play MLB the Show across 3 platforms. We're watching the game live cause it would be nice to see a 3000th hit as a group. Oh well. Sorry for caring about seeing it today.

You know what's funny. "Yankees suck" chants were cool in the 90s and early 00s.

When a team hasn't won a WS in a while, it's not as fun to hate them.

I love the fact as a 6th grade teacher in CT, my entire class wasn't born the last time the Yankees won!

They still love their ancient history - bragging about the 27 rings (0 in their lifetime).
