Quality of Life Improvements and Other Things I’d Like to See

Could not have been any happier that online co-op made it in this year, but aside from just getting it to run smoother, there are a few QOL improvements that could make it even better, and a few additions I think could make it more rewarding and engaging for more people.
-
Allow us to fill every position with the players we want. Is there a reason we, as a team, can only choose 6 position players and 6 pitchers? We spend so much time unlocking these player cards that it is a real shame we are limited. We can’t even pick who is on the bench.
-
Allow us to set and change both the defensive positions and batting order before finding the opponent. We have the squad preview screen. This would be a great place to make these adjustments rather than having to do it all once the opponents are found.
-
Pool all of your teammates player cards together and allow all teammates to chose from all of the cards. I have several friends who don’t have the time to grind but want to play DD co-op with those of us who do, but they really hate they have to bring our team down with only golds or silvers as options.
-
Have some sort of skill based matchmaking or ranking system. I’m mediocre and another friend is just flat out bad, but more often than not we get matched with teams that perfect/perfect very often and we are struggling to string together hits.
-
Add a reward system or program for co-op like RS where both wins and innings played can earn rewards. Also allow PXP to be earned from co-op.
-
Allow friends to challenge each other in 2v2 or 3v3. It sucks when a friend has to be left out from playing when we have enough people to play a 2v2 against each other. This mode would not have to offer rewards or PXP if those are concerns. Just the option would be great. Playing with 2-3 friends against the CPU would also be a great option.
-
Create an online club system. The only other sport game I play is NHL so I can only use it as an example, but something like NHL’s EASHL. Allow us to creat a club, pool our cards together to make our squad, and we can compete to move up a tiered ranking system, similar to RS now, and then have a playoff at the end of the month. Team and player stats could be recorded and we could actually see our record and how each player is doing in the club. EASHL is the best example of a mode that could have a ton of potential in the show and would give a reason for a lot more people to to focus and engage with. Also incentivize players to play by allowing us to earn rewards by playing.
-
Allow different time of day and weather settings. I don’t know if it is just co-op or other competitive modes are the same as well, but I have not seen a night game yet, and the night games are my favorite to play in.
I think that about covers all the things my friends and I would love to see with co-op in the show. It is such a nice addition to have, and the potential to make it really great is there.

#2 already exists. It’s called the ‘Manage Roster’ screen.

I’m saying it would be nice to have this set up before even getting to the manage roster screen. Much like how you can set your batting order in your personal DD manage squad screen, it would be nice to be able to do it from the squad preview screen before you start searching for a match. I just think it would be a nice addition so either you aren’t keeping your opponents waiting too long or don’t have to wait for your opponents to take forever to do it.

You missed the point.
Set your lineup BEFORE you even R1 over to the ‘Play’ tab.

I’ll try it out tonight but but are you talking about co-op or just your personal DD roster? Co-op doesn’t use your lineup from the main DD manage squad, and as far as I can tell once you and your teammates have selected the players you want to use, there is no way to adjust their position or batting lineup until you have found an opponent

Eashl has its stupid issues as well, the rewards in eashl are absolutely horrible and the playoffs aren’t worth playing unless you get too 5 and everyone has to see your name for a month. For god sakes, please don’t copy eashl. Every year my club gets to division 1 then we stop playing. It would be nice to have a reward program and ranking like RS, being rewarded in packs, stubs, and players.

I was using EASHL as a base example. I didn’t say to copy it exactly as is. I even mentioned having a reward system like RS for it.
