I’ve found the third ring of hell

Here’s the trouble with Moments.
I’ll use the Jeremy Peña one as an example. Here, we are to get 4 total bases in a game. Ok, fine.
But don’t give me a Peña card with 54 lefty power! Oh and on top of that, don’t have the team he’s hitting against pitch nothing but lefties most of the game.
I’m being set up to fail. Not for success.
That, in a nutshell, is what needs to change in Moments.

I’ll add that when I say, “get the job done”, I don’t mean playing the same Moment 15, 20 or more times.
Yes, if you swing poorly and/or at bad pitches, I wouldn’t expect to satisfy the Moment. But, good swings on good pitches in the strike zone? Yeah, that’s a reasonable expectation IMO
Anyway, off my Moments soapbox. Second year playing this game. Moments, by far, are the worst and worst thought out program. Not even close.

I think many people are tired of the same formula with moments and just want to see something new introduced. It would be nice to see something different like say “Collect X amount of hits with Y player’s LS card in your lineup.”
That way you can continue playing the mode of your choice, earning PXP, program XP etc. while working towards the Topps Now cards.

So by new you mean something they did back in 18, which happened to be the version of the game that I played the least because I got tired of the need to constantly take the players that I wanted to use out of my lineup so that I could get stats with a player I did not want to use as that was the only way to progress towards the immortal cards.
Also, Isn't the missions in the programs just another version of that anyway. It doesn't ask for specific hit types but the better you do the faster it goes.

I didn’t play 18, I skipped it after playing 17 so I did not know that was a thing.
So why not make it a choice, make the moment what actually happened in game or allow the player an alternate method. Say a player hits two home runs in a game. You can choose to replicate that or you can put the LS card in your lineup to accumulate 8 total bases over how ever many games it takes you.
Then the player can chose, try and get it done quickly or work on something like conquest while going for the alternative method.
I am not a god squad player, I like trying new cards, new lineups so with this method, however your play style at least you have choice.

I’ve hated moments since the introduction of them. The only ones I do is if I absolutely have to in order to get a specific player I want. So glad the daily moment program is gone and now they’re just for XP.

Nothing like needing 5 TB with a contact hitter...only getting 4 ABs a game...and getting plunked in one of the AB's every attempt! Oh and lets put a guy with 80 speed on first every at bat so the pitcher feels the need to throw over 2-3 times and pitchout every AB.
Moments aren't that bad...I just don't think they take the time to think "Is this a good moment to do" Not to mention they don't change the gameplay in any way. You can player lock my guy, player lock the pitcher so all he does is pitch to me. That's the other bad thing....Player lock. Nothing like being told to not give up a hit and then not be able to control your defense. Idiotic.

I think if they combined Moment with Challenge of the week type play it might make it better. Perhaps little flags, designated zones or something that indicated a single,double, or triple around on the field. (HR's would be obvious)
Maybe a lefty pull hitter and designated zones scattered in right field. This would also get people to work on timing the pitch? I dunno just somthin that popped in my head while reading thread. I haven't thought it out in depth just more of a brainstorming thing.
But agree with get rid of the uncontrollable teammates thing. And pitching in moments needs work as well, CPU pitching in general across the board really! Nothing like those moments where you need 5 total bases and you have 3 or 4 in the 9th to only have pitcher bean you!

I find they were pretty easy except the hit a HR ones lol got walked and pitched around by Sandy like 15-20 AB it

Yeah, it's almost like people are individuals and have different opinions and different ideas about what is enjoyable. Weird.
Look at it this way, for the most part they de-emphasized Moments a lot this year. Daily moments appear to be no longer required for anything and can be skipped. There are enough ways to gain XP in the main program that you can skip all of the those program moments. So there are a lot less moments that seem required this year.

I do not enjoy playing moments but its better than what we had before it, and what most of the anti-moments people claim to want back

Honestly too, this year’s repeatable conquest takes so little time for 5 packs.

If you want some excitement (and dangerously high blood pressure) there's always showdown. I swear they made it harder this year and I don't like it.
