Title says it all, but I didn't know where to ask the question. Sometimes it shows up on the ground when you are fielding the ball. Sometimes not. It seems to serve no purpose.

Are you possibly talking about the throw meter? There are simply not enough details to truly answer you.

Thanks for the replies. Say you are in center field and you get a lazy flyball hit to center. Generally, you get the image of a baseball showing where the ball will land, that gets smaller as it gets closer to you. But sometimes, near that image of a baseball, there is this ribbon on the ground with some oscillating arrows pointing inward. I guess it depends on your settings as to whether your see it or not.

Anyway, I did some looking around and while I couldn't get a straight answer, it seems that it's just an indicator telling you where to stand to field the ball. I dunno why it's there as it feels redundant to have that and also the baseball image. But it's nothing to do with playing the ball off the wall or anything like that.

ya its showing you the best path to take to catch the ball.

They probably added it this year because it's now on Nintendo Switch and little Johnny may need help on learning to field.

I hate the blue rectangle this year; there was no need to switch the ball/circle target

I started using that last year. I like it. Especially if you have good fielders. Bad fielders the line is longer but you can stil tell where the ball is going. Buxton just has a tiny dot to run to. But you can still use the floating ball if you want.

Didn’t see it in the settings, I’ll check again.

I think what you're talking about is where to set up your fielder so you could "run" as you catch the ball and "throw" the ball faster. This usually triggers when you have time to "get under" a ball in the outfield and there is a runner on base who wants to advance (2nd to 3rd or 3rd to Home).

Basically, it's and animation that would allow you to get rid of the ball quicker and throw it in faster. If you get to the spot on time and you trigger the animation, you should see your fielder take a few small steps and then accelerate as he catches the ball and throw it in a quick sequence. Quicker than the normal animation where the fielder might have to set himself first.

Also, you have to set the Throw Meter in the process for the accuracy of the throw.

This sounds like the answer. Thank you for your time!
