Why is a 1 step lead at second always a out. Its 1 step and I’m not stealing I’m doing it to cut down distance for a hit like come on.

Because it is much closer to the mound than 1B. Also, if the SS is holding, it will be an out each and every time! That is the reason why I use SZ3 camera when pitching. I can see people take a lead from 2B, I set my SS to hold, and I pick them off 100% of the time!

I’m not having a issue with how to pick off but why is my issue. Like if Matt Olsen is getting picked then cool whatever. But if Harper or Acuna or any smart base runner has a bigger lead to cut down base distance they shouldn’t be a auto out because of a lead. That is just silly.

Well try this....Henderson is on second with an extra lead, O'Day is pitching and throws a 80mph slider and they still get Henderson at third even with lead ....yetno problem stealing against fastballs in same scenario. Makes no sense to me. Last year use to be easy with a fast guy to steal third....this year not so much....even with locastro and berti.....if it's a late jump I hafta swing

Huh? Isn't 2nd farther from the mound than 1st? The diagonal of a 90' square is ~127' 3". Mound is 60' 6" away.

That would mean that 2nd is 66' 9" away from the mound where 1st and 3rd are 63' 7.5"

That’s some good maths right there 🙂 Shout out to our man Pythagoras, bringer of hypotenuses.

It would be a bit longer than 63’ 7.5” from the mound to the corners because it’s 6ft 3 inches closer to home on the 2B->home diagonal as you’ve mentioned.

I’m neither near a baseball diamond nor pen and paper so I can’t do the maths now but they could be equidistant (mound to 1st, 2nd, 3rd) for all I know.
