What is your Live Series collection strategy?

Do you knock out the cheapest sets first? Or do you buy the gatekeepers and work down? I did cheapest first last year, but I'm thinking buying Trout and Acuna now so I can atleast use them now.
-
Pick American or national and then go division by division to finish the first league. Start with whatever cards you want first
-
I wanted mussina since he parallels fast. Have him to IV already and then did central and Durham and sizemore are nice.
-
It all depends.. For me I got lucky and hit a few gatekeepers early so I built around that... Trout is my best player, and I finished collections... Acuna, I can't hit well with, but it's different for everyone..
-
I'm personally going for National League East first and then the rest of the NL.
This isn't really a strategy per se, it's just because I want Clemente early. He's one of my favorite all time players (and people) and I want to use him for a while before he's outclassed later on.
And NL East first because I'm interested in the 97 Utley.
I'm basically 1 Acuna away.
-
I go for gatekeepers first so usually Trout, then the next highest stub count and so on
I noticed this strategy to be more efficient in the long run -
Usually division by division, league by league. Typically done in 2 months or less.
But that was also when I used to be able to flip at work (allegedly). Thinking about playing the long game this year just doing them as they come wrapping up in September or so.
-
For me, it's not to rush it and just complete each team whenever I get the pieces. I'll start grinding BR for the diamond players and maybe some events, open up the free packs through the programs. But patience is key, the cards aren't all that anyway.

Double post
-
Mine is collect all the Cardinals players first.
Done. That is the extent of it.
-
Mine is always do my favorite team first (Phillies) then assess who I want in the collection rewards and go towards that besides Randy the rest of the 99 overall collection rewards are players I usually don't hit well with so this year I'm only focused on the NL East until the diamonds get real cheap.
-
If you can stomach buying trout, do it. He’s awesome and totally useable this early in the game cycle.
-
I knocked out the NL because I wanted Clemente first. Frank is a weak boss if you ask me but I want Randy. I suggest picking a division and go from there. Sell everything else and all duplicates. I got a lot of diamond pulls and opened a lot of packs. I always drop $100 real money release night and just open packs. I do all the online programs(events, br, rs) and sell every reward to help with collections. I can always buy them back later if needed. Also, obviously sell all fotf cards . All your stubs should be to complete collections until it's complete. Don't keep anything that you aren't locking in for Randy. I wanted to keep fotf Chapman, Williams and clase to beef up the pen but I sold all and completed a few teams. I have pulled several good diamonds in free packs thought these programs. Maybe luckier than some others on this forum. I see people talking about 200 packs no diamonds. 8 feel 8 get a diamond every 20-30 packs.
-
I knock out the big ticket cards first.
I flip until.i have 100K above the highest price card that I need next that way I always have a stub bank to flip with. Been doing OK as I've cleared off all the 100K+ diamonds so far.
-
Cracked packs filled sets spent 500 just need acuna and tatis now
-
Playing the long game this year, I'm not rushing anything and I find I am having more fun this year because of it. FOMO won't get me this year

Do you even sell off your duplicate Golds?
You don't worry about possible upgrades?

I sell everything duplicate until live series is done. I'm not gonna hold onto a 1k card that may or may not be 5k in 3 months.

Ive pulled a few diamonds this year and when i have, i go to their set and see how many other diamonds i need to complete the team. Then if i have the stubs, i buy them. So far, the LS diamonds i have :
Scherzer,
Sale
Grandal
Robert
Altuve
Verlander
Tucker
Freeman
Muncy
Kershaw
Buehler
Bieber
MarteWhen i have the stubs to complete each team ive started, i will...then ill do the lower end teams with no diamonds.

Makes sense. I'm still trying to find a decent method for flipping. Can't seem to find anything that works.
