Switch Successfully Linked

I was able to link mine as well. I have Xbox with gamepass and purchased the $60 version on switch. So both games went live for me at the same time. I started on the switch and linked with the code. Then went to my Xbox and it asked me which progression I wanted to use and I chose the switch created player etc. It looks like the only thing that I lost is the preorder bonus on the switch which was a gold choice pack and 5000 stubs which I don’t really care about. Went back and forth between switch and Xbox a couple of times and the progression seems to be working fine. I bought the switch to use on the road for work so all I care about is that the cross progression works.

Thanks for this man! I’ve been wondering how to do this! I’ve been getting errors on the website. Did you try going in to DD on your switch after linking to see if it all was the same?
Yes. Everything was there on both devices, even my progress on the US map.

Disregard…wrong answer. I really wish they would give us the option to delete a post.

That’s right. The bonuses don’t combine and you only get the bonuses (if any) from the account you choose to be your main one.

When you log into your The Show account (black and white icon) at theshow.com there is a box to enter the link code.
Where does it ask you what account you want to make your primary one?
-
Am I doing something wrong when I try to link? I get to the screen where you are supposed to enter the code. I enter it, and on the website it says the account is linked, but the screen on the Xbox or Switch that says it will automatically go away, never goes away. And If I back out, it doesn't appear linked on the console.

I asked the same question over here and was able to actually put up pictures. Basically once I enter the link code, which account should I be choosing?https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-show/997243-am-i-doing-account-linking-wrong.html

I was able to link my profile, but at the same time lost my stubs. Anyway to have them returned?

The account you have the most stubs and cards on. Your cross progression will go on from there, but when linking, the accounts do not combine resources. You will have your full inventory of your main account on both devices once they are linked.

Those pictures show your Xbox linked to your The Show account but it doesn’t show your Switch linked.

Unlink and then when you relink, choose the account that has your stubs as your main account. You haven’t lost them, they are not available because you didn’t choose that account as your main one.

Thank you.
I’m just trying to help lessen some of the frustration with linking accounts. It would help if SDS spelled this out in their faq and maybe even included some pics of the process. But they didn’t, so it’s up to us to help each other out.

I shouldn’t be trying to answer these question on my iPad…grrrr!

I got it successfully linked. I didn’t realize I’d lose my 25k stubs from my Xbox digital deluxe version . I knew I probably wouldn’t get the preorder stubs from the switch version. Do you think it would be smart just to unlink and buy like 25k worth of players on my Xbox then link again?

Nevermind, I see I still have my 25k extra stubs when I sign in to my Xbox DD just 25k less when I’m on the switch but can still grind

That’s up to you, but I think it would be more economical to make your account that has all your stuff from your DD version as your main account. That way your able to use it. Remember, when you link, your stuff doesn’t combine, you use what’s in your main account and progress forward from there. And, you didn’t lose the stubs. They are still there, you just have to unlink to see them.

Kewl! The Switch is like your child…you don’t ever give them all of your money. They can live in your house, eat your food, dress in the clothes you buy them, sleep in the bed you give them, but they don’t have your ATM card. Keep in mind also, any stubs you buy from Nintendo won’t be available on your XBox and vice-versa if you buy stubs from Microsoft. Stubs are proprietary to their originating platform.
