If attributes are based on 3 year performance, wouldn’t primary position be the same? He’s had more appearances at CF than 2b in that span….or is this a more strategic move to simply add depth at 2b primary?

I cover the DBacks for a living and can confirm that he is playing 2B this year, not center field. He will occasionally back up at SS, too.

It's because he's going to be playing second base this season with an occasional backup at short. Both the manager and GM have confirmed it multiple times.
