Because you can't put cards you are grinding for on a franchise team. It would be nice if we could.

There's a misconception that keeps coming up when we talk about this stuff. When we talk about stuff to do offline we aren't necessarily talking about rewards and exclusive cards, we're talking about having some mode that lets us play 9 inning games offline with out DD team that has an end game. A carrot to work towards.
It's not jealousy because the online crowd gets a card the offline crowd doesn't.
This said as someone that plays both online and off, right now I'm probably 70/30 online, it would be nice to have something less stressful to play after RS.

Here is where I stand as an offline player as of last night
- Completed Starter Conquest
- Complete list 1st Inning Conquest
- Completed US Conquest
- Completed Starter Showdown
- Made Several failed attempts at the 1st inning Showdown
- Did all of the Welcome Moments
- Did all of the first inning Moments (Granderson and Woods)
- Did the Eckersly Evolution moments.
- Did a MTO run up to the World series(have not played the world series as it would be a waste of affinity points)
- Earned the FOTF from my favorite team.
- Played the nine inning CPU games against Cubs and Yankees. (Woods and Granderson)
I am sitting at 205 program points.
There are only a few options open to me to get the final 95 points. Showdown, which I have failed badly at in every attempt so far, and that costs 500 stubs each attempt. Collections, which also cost stubs, but in this case both collections together are more expensive than just buying the three bosses outright. Mindlessly grinding for another 30 hours or so in the last 9 days of the 1st Inning Program.
Basically the goal of 300 stars still seems so far away and the options to get there seem so unappealing (and just not fun) that it has killed a bit of my desire to keep playing.
Have you collected the Wood and Granderson cards? Those, I believe, are both 10 stars apiece

Because you can't put cards you are grinding for on a franchise team. It would be nice if we could.
yeah earlier i was saying to Dolenz it would be nice if you guys could indeed for that scenario

I am also a strictly offline player. This may be a dumb question but did you “collect” Wood and Granderson. You don’t get the program points until you collect them. You can also get five stars a day with dailies.

I've got it done and I'm in a position as far as what I've played (bronze 88). I've done pretty much all the offline missions tho (getting innings with players and doing cheap trade ins), I made a point to mix that in with conquest. I'm currently at 331 stars and I'm working on the 1st inning conquest now

Didnt see this mentioned yet but did you do the Wood and Granderson collection? If you lock them in, you get 20 stars each

I'm sitting at about 450. With the stuff I still have left to do, I should be up to around 600 or so by the time the new program comes out and that's without touching showdown. I mostly play offline, although I did play enough online games to complete most of the missions that required it. The only one I haven't done yet is hit six home runs with granderson.
Anyone know of someone who actually hit 1,000 stars? I don't see how that's possible unless they add content to the program.

i feel u. it feels like mlb 20 have kinda taken a step back compared to mlb 19. hiding program star behind showdown is a mistake. it just feels like there is no more effort in recreating those "moments" that involves the inning program bosses.

Hey dude, I never beat showdown or did any of the collections towards the first inning program like the prospects and 7 legends and I'm sitting at 330 stars. Just keep grinding.

So this is just my opinion. I understand what the original poster is saying. I will take last year as an example. I had to stop playing MlB 19 in July due to some responsibilities. I resumed playing in November and was going to go back and catch up on the innings I had missed. But after calculating all the things I could do to catch up on in the innings I could not reach the 300 milestone as there was not enough points to be accumulated. So I stopped playing the game all together. I am not complaining that SDS is responsible for providing enough points for me to make up for not playing. However; If SDS main purpose of the innings is to keep people playing the game, I think it would be wise for them to include enough stars for you to get up to 300 if you have to take a break from the game. Once again not complaining but do understand the original posters comments.

I don’t know if you mentioned why you didn’t play online versus. Is it connection issues? Or you just have no interest in playing against other people?

vagimon, I don’t know if your comment was directed at me. But if it was, I tried to play online, but I have a lag that messes with my input and I couldn’t get use to it. But on top of that with my example, my understanding and correct me if I am wrong, the online play only counts towards the current program. So if I picked the game up in November and hadn’t played since July, I wouldn’t be able to play the online portion to make up those points. I want to say it was the July innings program I had started to complete and got about to 180 when I realized if I did all the offline stuff I would still be 40 points short or something like that. So at that point it wasn’t worth it to me to finish the innings and I just moved to other games waiting for 20 to release. Even though I would have liked to use the cards.
