Another year of bad hitting mechanics
Another year of them not being able to please everyone. While I am still not convinced to buy it this year (I never preorder until all of the feature premieres are released) I appreciated the info that they shared.
They showed actual stats. The explained the philosophy of early/late swings and showed examples of exit velocity. The made a change to the PCI so that it shrinks when chasing outside the zone. They said that pinpoint pitching should more difficult.
But I am enough of a realist to know that even if they had reinvented the hitting engine from scratch that some people would be here complaining about it.

Yep and I see your last paragraph and raise you ‘I’m enough of a realist to know that even though they’ve presented these things, gameplay may not actually be improved as intended’.
Although those perfect throws… [censored] they looks awesome!

Did anybody else notice the obscene typo in the dynamic PAR breakdown they showed? The list of which pitches are and are not affected by dynamic PAR
Somebody’s muscle memory took over, methinks.

not much change at all in the dynamic diamond mode i like how they did the starting line up with the base ball cards. should do that for all parts of the game.

I really hope they announce if the DH is added. I want to pre-order my game if it is.
I'm kinda on the opposite end of that. Gonna make my bench players and bullpen mean so much less than before. But SDS won't know about DH or not until MLB and MLBPA come to an agreement and put it on paper and sign it.
It’s confirmed to be a part of any CBA.
Not confirmed until it's confirmed. There are no verbal confirmations. Will have to wait until they come to an agreement

There are no verbal confirmations lol. Has to be agreed, written, and signed. Right now its all just talk. It will be there when they are finished negotiating, but that hasnt happened yet. Just because you are on a plane to Fiji, doesnt mean you are in Fiji.
The game that Sony is putting out this year is supposed to represent the MLB product in 2022. It needs to at least have the option for the DH. They can’t just ignore that addition until next years game.
They can if it isn't an MLB rule. And technically as of now it isn't a rule. They will make it happen if it happens most likely. Unless for DD they leave it as is for competition.
I don’t know where people get off saying this. It’s a game, not real life. As of now, the DH is in the AL and interleague and SDS doesn’t have that in the game. If they put it in, great, if they don’t, great. Who cares? I think it’s a thrill when my pitcher gets a good hit.
I’d rather have a bench with 8-9 players like the Live teams do, now that would make the game more fun. Being able to use more of your cards on the same team.

Same here, DH definitely hurts that. But if MLB uses universal DH I would be all for DH in DD. Even though it will take away from us guys a bit.

To be fair, they have given us two 99 Ohtani cards. One is a pitcher and one is a fielder. So, you can use him either way. Also, you can always sub a fielder with a pitcher - so if you really want, you can put the pitcher card in the field. You can have a fielder pitch also...just pinch hit for them.

Always love the Chris n Kyle show!! Favorite part was that they are taking pitching etiquette into consideration when making changes. Pitching cheese has been a thorn for over 6 years now. I hope they monitor it and adjust it even more if they need to.
