I am working my way thru programs that I haven’t finished. I am looking for hints and tips on the Willie Stargell program. Specifically, the 3 times on base in one game moment. It’s all I need to finish it, but I can’t seem to get that third on base. I get two a bunch of times, but three….

Anyway, looking for some tips other than play it til you get it. Ha ha. Swing early on each at bat, wait for two strikes on each at bat, skip that one entirely?? How did you finish it??

    Thanks!!

The trick to get on base is to either take 4 balls for a walk or to get a base hit. That's it. That's the trick.

    Real nice, knob.
The guy comes on asking a simple question, and you take time out of your day to try to humiliate him.
    Proud of yourself?

Oh hush Billy. Idk what answer OP is looking for. Take 2 strikes? Why? If you get a hittable pitch, you swing. It really is that easy. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to get the missions done because there's no margin for error since you probably only get 3 or maybe 4 at bats. There is no trick. Just walk or get a hit 3 times, that's literally it.

Anyway, do you feel better now coming to rescue the princess and scold the villain? I hope so.

Use directional anytime you have trouble with a hitting moment. People can say it's the dark side, it's like cheating, blah blah blah. Just do it and be done. Moments are lame when you get stuck on one...use directional, hold up on the stick and let it rip.

Hey all, I really wasn’t trying to start an intense “back and forth” with my original question. Just wanted to know if there was anything “special “ about getting this one particular moment that you could remember.

What I’m hearing is, just keep plugging away, you’ll eventually get it. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

    I’m certainly not a princess, btw. 😜

Yup didn't mean to be offensive towards you, I was addressing the white knight. But yes keep plugging away and if you get a good pitch to hit just let it fly. If you don't get a hit or walk on the first at bat, pause the game and start over.

Thanks, raesone Never occurred to me to simply start over after first at bat. Like that strategy.

Also this. Definitely start over if you miss the first one. No need to stress, you'll get it. Can I be the squire?

To complete this thread, I finally got it! I used raesone suggestion and If I didn’t get a hit in the first at bat, I started over. I used ericulous suggestion and did directional hitting.

Took a while and needed a game where Trevor rogers didn’t pitch, but got it!!

    Thanks all.

Glad you got through it. Directional is best used when you need home runs with noodle bats like Gary Carter, Ozzie Smith and Orlando Cepeda. Or multiple xbhs. Once I discovered it, I used it for every moment and never spent more than a few minutes on any given moment. It is a power and dangerous Allie. I'd never use it in game but in moments, oh well.
