What are the “unwritten rules” of the show?

Oh let me chip in on the bunt against the shift; if you're too lazy or too incompetent to take off the shift and I need a hit badly, I will bunt it against the shift and I won't feel bad about it either.
It's something else if you try to bunt every single time and you're exploiting the game.

What re your unwritten rules while playing dd? For me it bunting cheesing for hits against the shift. You guys?
Mine is ... I try to hit the ball and play baseball if you bunt I don't turn off the shift cause I don’t give a shnitt and I'm totally fine with that ...anyway when you turn off the shift funny human being will still bunting cause they can't hit so they will try to steal 146 bases to literally steal a win to get a better card with poor bunting attribute but guess what ? They will still bunting and usually dashboarding in the 2nd inning after gave you 7 walk and a grand slam. I forgot the question but now I feel better ! Sorry !

Hitting HRs against me at shippet….I chose that stadium for me to hit dingers, not you!!

I wish there were unwritten rules of the Show. Unfortunately, all of the cheese happens on the regular.
I think the most egregious is the speed cheese base stealing BS at first, with a close second to the “play as slow as I possibly can hoping my opponent will quit”.
Both of these don’t really have counters. Sure, you can step off indefinitely as long as your opponent keeps taking an extra step, but you still suffer and it isn’t super effective.

For the steals...I use the SZ3 camera while pitching...I let them take 2B...have my SS hold to bag...wait for them take an extra step...pickoff at 2B every time.
SZ3 allows you to see them take that extra step and the SS holding at 2B allows for the pickoff after they take an additional step. Most will take that extra step at 2B. That will usually get them to stop after the first time, but some like to learn the hard way and get picked off multiple times.

Agreed. I’ve had more pickoffs at second base this year than ever before, but I’ve also had this lead to freeze offs as well.

It did trigger a freeze off in the past, but my understanding is that they had fixed that particular freezing issue. I could be wrong though.

biggest one imo is using a cap pitcher with submarine motion. faced a dude today who used a cap pitcher at bayfront with overcast. impossible to see the ball. very fun way to receive my first loss of the szn. also the first guy i’ve ever faced who was toxic enough that i decided to block him

You don’t know hard I laughed at this. Thank you!! I needed something to lighten my mood today.

Not spamming R2. People play with bunts great. There are few things that pisses me off like players trying to steal home on routine plays. Game glitches on throws.
-
My only UR is dashboarding mid-homerun. It's a child throwing a tantrum, and that stat now doesn't count. Fix this, SSD, then all you little diaper-wearers can dashboard away.
Bunting? Go for it. I might, too, if you're in the shift or if you don't play in with Lofton/Turner/others at the plate.
Stealing and leadoffs are just broken. Whatever.
My biggest pet peeve, though, is when pitchers take the full time a drag things out. Horrible. Conversely, if they have a guy that goes too fast for my tastes (like Kimbrel) I'll step out, pause, just to send a message. Trying to be civil.
-
Also surprised nobody has brought up rampant quitting to play lesser competition in RS. Admittedly, I do that because I have no chance of making WS.
-
My biggest pet peeve is picking a stadium and time of day where it is almost impossible to see the ball because of the batter's eye. Played a guy in BR the other day that chose the minor league stadium that is set out west like in a desert setting and he chose the late afternoon. He threw a lefty pitcher and some of those stadiums it's hard to see the ball but you can at least pick it up a little. This was like the ball was freaking invisible if using a lefty. With a righty throwing you could somewhat see but with a left hander you could not see anything from the time it left his hand until it got to the catcher unless he threw across the plate which of course he never did, he kept everything on the arm side of the plate. Doubt seriously it was a first time he picked the stadium and didn't know that either considering he started LS Chapman and when I looked at his bullpen and its all lefties except for one righty. I've heard you can go into ps5 settings and check to invert colors and I've tried that before and it helped a little but not much.

The stealing home glitch is the worse how does this get past testing?? Dropped strike third strike throw to first and runner breaks home catcher just stands there wtf

This happened to me a couple times. I didn't have the presence of mind to try this, but if you "throw home" with your catcher, does that dezombify the catcher into tagging the cheeser?

SDS sort of invited that with the changes to RS this year.
That being said Video games are supposed to be fun. I enjoy playing people on or near my skill level. I have little to no fun playing someone whose batting average is above .500 and their SP ERA is sub 1.00 on HOF. To each their own.

Anyone mention that buying Standard packs is a no no?

Yea tried and nothing eventually I dived but too late

Don’t take an extra step lead with a speed guy over and over after I have shown I am paying attention and will either throw over or step off. It’s their right to do it, but once I show I am not giving it we can play the game for 20 minutes.
Bro I’m right there with ya. I’ll throw to first all and all night. Hope they got some time cuz I’ll make it miserable if they pull that garbage.

Just step off no need to deplete stamina and the randomness of a throwing error
