I tanked 25 wins to get Trout. I was 14-2 before trying. this game is so bad online and records don't mean anything.
Sure you were. 14-2 where the first 14 games were on Veteran and the 2 losses came once you hit All-Star difficulty. But hey I'm sure you weren't even trying, right?
Correct, I don't care. Just played online to get Trout. Never said I was a HOF or Legend player. Highest rating was 635 but tanked to 400-450 for the easy wins. I cared last year with my 80-29 record, or something similar, but learned this game is trash and not worth the time caring about fake records.
I'm down for a friendly if you ever want.

Look man, you came at me saying I suck. Truth is I just went on a 27-3 run to make WS for Trout, didn't have to tank a thing. I played good players instead of dodging them and in the meantime I ended up batting well over .300 which would've been closer to .400 if not for all the dashboards during my homeruns. So I don't think you want this smoke, stick to your offline play before bed.

You didn't complain, you merely pointed out that your opponent bested you by utilizing the venue and a brand of offense suited to that field. Based on your record and reputation, I assume you could have beaten that opponent 7 or 8 out of 10 times but you didn't beat your chest and brag about that, you just tipped your cap.

I'd love to help but the things you mention, it's hard to give specific tips for those things because you will naturally develop these things over time and by repetition. Especially pitch recognition and PCI movement are things you develop by just playing a lot and often.
For laying off pitches you can make a gameplan just like real ballplayers do. For example you don't swing until you have 2 strikes in every count until let's say the 6th inning. That way you force your opponent to throw a lot of pitches and you'll have the ability to see a lot of them, which should make it easier to recognize them and therefore time them.
When I'm struggling and swinging at bad pitches because my ego is thinking I can hit every pitch out of the yard, I take a step back and see some more pitches and look for specific pitches for a while that I either like hitting or my opponent tends to throw a lot. That could be either a pitch type or a location. Unless they give you that pitch, you just take the pitch even if it's a strike. And then if your opponent starts noticing you're overly patient, they may get impatient and start pounding down the middle every first pitch of the at bat thinking you won't swing. Wouldn't hurt to try and swing every once in a while if you notice they do this. Just make sure you're not trying to hit pitches that are on the black unless you absolutely have to in a 2 strike count.
