Going to get a new monitor 240 or 165 htz?
-
240 is a bit more expensive than the 165. Wondering if it’s a slight advantage for those who have used both. Much of a difference or should I just go with the 165?
-
I play on an Alienware 240hz and love it but I don't know if there is honestly a huge difference from 165hz. I have tried even 120hz on this monitor and while there is a difference, it's not huge.
-
I’m between 3 monitors. ASUS, Dell, and Sceptre all pretty much identical specs. Anyone know what’s the best

Isn't the game capped at 120hz?

I read that it is. I’m set on a 144hz 1 m/s response monitor just not sure of the brand between those 3 I said

The pixel refresh rate is likely a little better on the 240 HZ to accommodate the possible 240 fps if you were playing a PC shooter or whatever allows for that……I know it doesn’t necessarily matter on MLB, but I would say go for the 240 HZ if it’s only like 50 more dollars.

And there is no way for me to force my PS5 to play a 60hz game at 120hz. All I can do is hope that a Sony game studio will step it up and allow the game to operate at the full potential of my Sony console and Sony TV…

On Xbox you can set the output to 120 and verify it in the C1 menu.
Of course the input lag varies by tv…but if you look at the typical Monitor/tv offering 120 hz or higher the input lag is literally half @ 120 hz from 60 hz because the signal is coming twice as fast allowing for half the latency.
You can just say you aren’t sure bro haha.

Understood big man….my original post asking about input lag on a 120 hz signal from the Xbox……you responded that your ps5 only goes 60 hz and there is no input lag difference between 60 hz and 120 hz.
First off…..you are dead wrong. Input lag is cut in half every time you jump hz/fps.
Second…I give up with you. Whatever response you come up with won’t even make sense and you will probably tell me you have a ps5 again.

Isn't the game capped at 120hz?
60hz
Is it going up next year to utilize the full potential of next gen?
I’d really like to know. The input lag on my tv is around 10ms at 60hz, around 5ms at 120hz.

Along those lines I wonder what happens when you have your console set to output 120 Hz and you are playing a 60 hz game? The information bar on the tv shows it’s receiving a 120 hz signal regardless of the game.
I wonder if you are getting the input lag benefit of 120 hz?It auto adjusts based on the signal.
The Xbox is set to 120 Hz…..the lg C1 has a menu that demonstrates the color/resolution along with the Hz of the signal. It shows 120 hz while MLB is playing.
My question is….since input lag is cut in half @ 120 hz and the Xbox is delivering a 120 hz signal to the tv regardless of the max fps in mlb….would you be gaining an advantage on input lag?
120hz is not lower input lag than 60hz across the board. Its different for every display. Check yours with rtings.com
I have a PS5, not an Xbox.
Are you okay? Hope things get better. Merry Christmas.
