I like all the nice replies, but you make a lot of these posts. Stop over thinking it. If you're not having fun then don't play. You can always find another game or something else that you actually enjoy.

The last couple years I would use all silver or all gold teams for the last month anyways just to practice with smaller pci sizes before the new game launches and we are using day 1 players again. You would be very surprised how successful you can be with WAY lower players against all 99's

I'm in the same boat as you. I played 7 online games prior to Monday night. Guys Im playing have records with 200 even 400 wins. Most of their guys are batting in the 300s with 70 or 80 hrs. They also lay off the most ridiculous pitches I throw. Im ranked in the 300s put Im playing guys who win 70 to 80 percent of their games. How does that happen? So Im just trying to get 30 wins for Trout so if I get matched up versus one of these guys I try to play a couple of innings against them but usually I quit out once they get up 4 or 5 runs. I'm already up to 20 wins but I probably have 50 loses.

to long to start this game and to play online.i don't mind competition; but when 99% if the people I face have cards that are paralled 4 - 5 levels; it takes out all the fun.
No matter where I pitch the ball; it's a hit.
Heck, I gave up a homerun to someone that swung AND connected on a slider so far out of the zone that it was in the dugout.
I'll keep at it, with Moments, until next Friday the 10th. But if the 10th Inning Program isn't a flashback program; I may just either hang it up for the year or take a break until they release the flashback program.
Use this time to hone your skills for 22. Who cares if you win or lose at this point, set little goals for yourself. Try and get better at working counts, or pitch recognition and laying off things in the dirt. Work on pinpoint pitching if you don't use it, or similarly using button accuracy for throwing. Use the practice mode to work on timing up specific pitches in specific locations. Lots of ways to improve. Don't get discouraged.
Actually a really good post -- productive and life-affirming. This game can crush you real quick if you concentrate on just W-L or stats...

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
I think I was just a little bit frustrated last night.
I'm probably going to end up sticking around as there really isn't any other game that I like to play.
I may do what some of you said and after I get all the offline content completed just go out there with different players and see what works for me.
Thanks again.

Guys like that are tanking so that they can get easy quits to get to Trout more quickly.

Once an opponent rattles me, they've won. I'm not like that vs cpu but cpu isn't as cunning of an adversary either.

Greatness is your last few posts on this thread. You may lose when rattled in game, but you've won on this forum hahaha.

You must be a stand up! I would have never thought of that response.

What's not funny about a Verlander, Diaz, Wagner lineup!

Hitters being paralleled doesn’t mean as much as pitchers being paralleled.
-
People are so good at this game they'd hit you w an 84 catcher any where near the plate has nothing to do w paralleled players

Yeah, I can't imagine that the difference between 100 contact and 105 contact or the difference between 100 power and 105 power is actually that noticeable.

Your words give me some encouragement. My online record is lousy (I started in July) and I had basically decided to forget it until next year. But maybe the advice to hone my skills between now and March is a good idea. I didn’t really expect to get Trout but who knows I guess.

Yeah dont worry about other players at this point man. Just try and get better. Only the die hard of the diehards are playing right now. If you can get decent in the next couple Months online you will be awesome come April 2022. You have from about April to August every year to beat up on scrubs, then they all leave for other games. Sep on its gonna be tough.
But, there is still a skill gap amongst those 'die-hards'. This is the only game I play regularly and have only ever reached Division Series (700) level a few times in 5 years. And I have been getting into the new version of the game late the past few years, so there are still always a few of us scrubs to beat up on regardless of the time of year, LOL!

True, but my point was the chance in running into those newer players are exponential lower this time of year. Especially in BR and events. In RS at least you have a matchup window.
