Exactly what PAinPA stated AND do NOT be afraid to look at strike 3. The latter is what really helped me draw more walks and get more realism

What level are you having trouble with? Online? Practice definitely helps and the part about picking sections of the strike zone is good advice. What is your hitting camera set as? A lot of people like strike zone but I like fish eye as I can see the ball longer, and see my hitter swing.

Also, try to focus on the pitchers release point. Even before he throws the ball, focus on that area so you can see the ball as long as possible. Lastly, if it's low let it go, if it's high let it fly. Low pitches that look OK tend to drop out of the zone, especially breaking pitches, high pitches above the zone are easier to lay off because they start high and stay high. But anything between your neck and knees is hittable.

Years back I seemed to find that doing the challenge of the week things really helped me with pitch speeds and pitch recognition

Challenge of the week is great practice. It starts off slow and low level and increases as you go. I try to do it every night before I play a ranked game.

For real. Can anyone teach me anything about hitting or point me to come youtube videos that helped them? Anything???

What do you need help with exactly? If it's hitting a pitch right down the middle nobody can help you that is impossible!

If you have things like a good monitor and kontrol freaks and good inet connection. The absolute best thing to do is put the slider pitch speed up to max or 1 notch off max and practice and forget about online right now.

There is loads of hitting and to a lesser degree pitching tutorials on yt just search hitting tips mlb 21 and take your pick.

Start with directional hitting to get timing down. If you like directional and having fun with it then just go with that.

I like directional hitting as it looks more real to me, with no strike zone box and no hot zones. Directional hands off your PCI movement to the computer and is tied to your vision stat. I don't play online so it's all good. I don't want to see that big parenthesis sitting in my strike zone.

No offense but this is the worst advise I could recommend. Stay on Zone b/c if you ever want to play competitively you'll be using it anyways. Under no circumstance would I ever recommend directional for online play. Its impossible to hit most the pitches that you will see against a decent player unless you are just lightning fast and early on all fastballs. Find your timing routine, everyones is different. And just practice a ton. I'm sorry but there is no way around that.

mate try to have your PCI in the middle, lean ever so slightly into the ball instead of yanking the controller (sudden bursts are bad)

also really wait for your pitch - unless you have 2 strikes don't swing unless its really in the zone for you

always expect FB so you aren't late on it, but take a deep breath and watch before the release of each pitcher

use a monitor if you can it helps tremendously

i use Strike Zone 1 i believe for batting

be patient, block out 1 hr per RS game so you don't feel rushed

best of luck on the field !!

My biggest challenge at batting is playing online. Offline I kick but on all-star.
But it all is in the timing and location...
