How are you approaching December RS?
-
I'm simply using all TA5 players to get my Team Affinity points. It's certainly not my "God Squad", and it will take me longer to get to 30 wins, but I don't care. I'm down here in 500-600 land, win one, lose one, but I'm having fun.
You?
-
I need all the help I can get so I’m going with best lineup as possible no matter what card type. I’ve got all TA5 earned cards anyway (except Cron) so if it takes me an extra while to earn the duplicate ASG packs and ballin bundles, so be it.
-
I'm doing whatever it takes to get 30 wins. I'm up to 7 wins already, took me 8 hours the past two days. Of course if I get down early I guite just for the sake of time. I suck plus I just don't have 45 minutes of dedicated, undistracted time to sit down and play a full game. The wife, the kid or the dog always need something. That is really my biggest gripe about RS. Going to be a whole lot slower if I move up the ranks. I also have order 1899 in on Trout. So whatever comes first.
-
My son and I are quarantined with Covid so decided to work together on our accounts to get Trout ( I had been in at drop and thought I had placed the 78th 1M buy order, but realized yesterday morning I had mistakenly placed one for 100,000 stubs ( ugh) and would have been about 2001 in line.
So we took turns playing on our accounts yesterday with me pitching and he hitting. We went about 9-3 roughly on eqxh account but the disappointing thing is a third the guys we are playing are WS banner guys with insane records tanking down in the 400-600 range ( these guys have lineups with averages between .350-.420 and 60-140 homers per player).
I get the rush to get Trout, but SDS should block these guys from playing RS on All Star once they hit WS as they are ruining the games for the guys who should be playing in this range to have a chance to earn wins. It’s a really Sh**ty thing to do.
Now in fairness, my son amd I can compete well enough to beat a few of these guys and we will wallow thru bouncing between 550-800 likely while we get our 30 wins, bit there are so many players that will have to play who knows how many games to earn the wins when you factor in them getting matched with these jack holes…I hope SDS figured a way to not reward these rank and tank players if they plan to keep the 30 win system next year.
-
If I get to it, I get to it, but I will be using theme teams as that is way more fun IMO. I'm like 1800 something in line, so it will be probably a month or so until I get Trout otherwise. I'm going to try to finish up event wins quickly so I can work on RS though, even though RS is my least favorite by far of the 3 online modes

Ahhh!!! I feel your pain. Looks like we're making about the same progress...

That's exactly what I'm seeing. I'm having better luck once I get into the 600's. I did play a guy who had a WS banner, and on the first pitch I hit a no-doubter with Bryan Reynolds. He dashboarded mid-flight. I'll take it.
He was at 410...

You'll see a alot that season, especially with trout as the rewards, its easier to get wins in 400s cause everyone quits.

Why? Playing ranked is more fun on all star, why do the guys that grind to make WS have to suffer playing on hall of fame? I want to use my go squad in ranked and have fun and i'll gave more fun playing on AS rather than playing against some pinpoint god hitting 102 on the corner all game long.

Me too. I love BR, play events if there's someone I want, and play RS as a chore.
-
Here's a weird one... I played someone with a record of 55-256. Yes, that's right. In the second, he put up 3 including a no-doubter with Posey. He was hitting well, not flailing. I hit a HR to make it 3-1 in the 3rd, then he quit in the 4th. Again, I'll take it. Strange...

I'm one of those WS guys in the 600s right now, I took a couple months off and it takes like 10 wins to get back to HOF. Just know that a lot of us don't intentionally tank
-
6 wins so far. For some reason I couldn't see pitches very well last night and lost 3 before I won 1. Went into practice mode and was hitting well on legend but couldn't catch up to fastballs in AS online. One game I lost was in extras when he grounded to the pitcher and he sent his guy from 2nd to home. For some reason my catcher never went back to the plate even after I was trying to throw home and he scored. Just shook my head and went to bed.

I know, my friend. I always check gamer tags after and can see the guys who are tanking compared to the WS guys who just saw their rankings plummet due to not playing for seasons.
It’s the guys with records of 22-21 and a bunch of 0-0 first inning losses this season and still playing in the 500s I am talking about and have seen multiple.
And to the guy asking why tanking is wrong, they have levels for a reason….but have fun destroying lousy competition so you can feel good about yourself when you obviously have the skills to be competitive at higher levels. ( play casuals on AS if you want to dominate with other line ups).
-
Still stuck at 1-0 and won’t be able to play until Saturday. Relying HEAVILY on being able to pick up a bushel of wins on 12/23-12/24.

It's December. There isn't any noob competition left. I tank to play all my RS games in the 400-550 range, and I rarely match up against a truly new player like that. It's mostly other tankers and folks that are decent but are clearly on a TV.
Remember, RS ranking resets every few weeks. So every player in the game "tanks" at the beginning of every month, and new players have to play veteran players all the time. It's built in.
What's the big deal about building it into the game just a bit more?
-
There is a difference between starting off wherever the game dictates and winning a game than losing one on purpose so you can keep pounding weak players.
I am not a weak player, not great, but am at least .500 against the WS tankers. But my son is legitimately a 400-600 player so you guys are doing those people a disservice by staying down on purpose as opposed to letting the game place you where you should be by competing every game.

I'm a new player to RS. Im 13-17. It is not because I tank it is because I cant hit. I average 1.8 runs per game and I'm hitting .207. Trust me, its not intentional.
-
I'm so confused by how RS works. How do people go back down levels? I played a bunch of RS games early on and was awful so I gave it up but I've been at 385 since. It never makes me start over like the other online programs. Does it kick you down when you get higher up? Thanks, just trying to know more about the game.

You are the type of player I am referencing when I say these guys who purposely lose to stay in the low levels are effecting.
You should be playing other guys who struggle to hit, not WS guys that can hit .400 -.500 plus on AS with their entire lineup.
